I’m devastated due to my ruined hair

Easy for me to say but try to be cool about it if you can , don’t stress it with over treating and hair does grow . After all we usually look at people’s faces . One friend of mine chooses to have a cut with the back of her head shaved really high ! 😊 good luck 🍀

My DH often asks if I've brushed my hair. My response is always yes and his is that I haven't brushed the back. I can't say the same to him since he's not got much left.

Why worry over women's hair when none seems to care men are balding, bald, or have scruffy hair, far worse to live with to me.

Hair is so incredibly important to us whatever age we are, and can make so much difference to how we feel about ourselves, so I hope, OP, that you’ll soon find a way to get yours back to the way you like it. There are so many ways, these days, to make your hair work for you - infinitely adaptable, it’s possible to turn a hair disaster into a triumph.

I remember the days of back combing and having to check the back!

Mine's a tangled mess at the back today althought I did try to tame it this morning.

I laughed too at the idea of not worrying about the back of your hair. When we were teenagers one of my sisters looked gorgeous from the front, but her hair at the back was a tangled, neglected mess. I made it a mission to get a brush through it, but every time I sneaked up behind her, brush poised, she’d turn on me in absolute fury and a fight ensued! It didn’t stop me trying again many times, but I never succeeded.

The only answer is to stop the over-conditioning and over-washing, both of which are bad for ^ all^ your hair, and to find a good hairdresser who can sort matters out whether by just cutting or adding extensions. On no account try to cut the back of your hair yourself! In the hands of a good hairdresser it will all be sorted out.

I was just hurt by the criticism of my 2 usernames when it was not my fault. Anyway, it’s now sorted with the help of a lovely lady on the Gransnet team and I am a proper poster.
I haven’t looked at the back of my hair today and feeling a bit brighter!

I laughed at the comment about looking at the back of your head - it was funny and reminded me of my Mum who always said she knew what I was up to because she had eyes in the back of her head.
I believed her for years.

I've always had unfortunate thin fine hair - always.

A few years ago, as a gift to from a family member, I went to a salon to have a different slanted blunt bob, balayage foils. All the difference in the world, hides many defects.

Perhaps a really good back slanted cut and foiled balayage?

How did you use both names? surely you must have signed in with two accounts yet you said the original account could not be used.

At one time GNHQ told us we could use an alternative name if we wanted to post something personal and didn't want to be identified or have it linked to our normal username.

However, I've tried it a couple of times and never found it possible!
