Tea tree oil can be effective in hair growth, cleansing scalp and controlling dandruff. you can mix it with other oils like jojoba and coconut oil. Tea tree is anti bacterial and anti fungal propertie. It will hydrate your scalp and give moisture to it which will help your hair grow. you can buy tea tree oil from VedaOils as they sell and manufacture best quality tea tree oil.

I'd forget the conditioners and use warmed coconut oil. massaged well in and left overnight with a plastic bag on top. place a towel on your pillow to protect it. Wash out next day and repeat as necessary.

Sorry for your loss. I'm not surprised that you haven't been able to thi k about such thinhs for a while. It must be such a shock.

Serums and anti frizz products would probably help a lot but you really need to get a good cut first. Explain to your hairdresser the problems you're experiencing with your hair and what you would like to achieve.

Personally, I'm struggling to get used to having finer hair now it's going grey, in steaks not so much peppered, and totally white streaks. I wish more would be that colour to be honest as I quite like it but most of it is still brown.

Very sorry about your loss it must be very difficult for you. You need to pamper yourself get back to eating sensibly it will improve your mind and body. The expression you are what you eat is true.
As others have suggested a good condition and moisturise your skin paint your nails. These little things make you look and feel better even though you hurt inside. I think you probably don’t look as bad as you think.
If you are feeling low and you don’t nourish yourself your mind and body suffer. One thing I will say like a lot of people this last eighteen months has made me really anxious and down. My hair is white but do you know I like it! People say they hardly recognise me since I went blonde I just laugh it off.
You need to learn to love yourself more and feed yourself especially as the season turns cold. ?

My tip would b, each night lather, and I mean lather your hair in conditioner, even a cheap one, sleep with it in and shower it out in the morning.
I do hope you continue to improve your mental health and start to look at your diet as that too will improve your hair, plenty of water❤️

I've been taking a supplement called Biotin for my hair and nails both of which suffered from prolonged neglect. My hair definitely feels thicker and more bouncy. Products to put on your hair will have a temporary effect, but it's only through a good, varied diet that its condition can improve from within. Oh and a good hairdresser. If you know someone who appears to you to have a good cut, do ask for a recommendation.

I think your hair is affected by the poor diet , so quick fix isn’t going to cure it
Add a few veg into the menu ,
I started vitamin D3 to help against COVID and find my nails and hair have improved !
Feeling sad is so normal , be kind to yourself and a visit to a nice hairdresser is a kindness

Thank you Mumski I did find your post useful and thank you very much for the hugs - they’re in short supply at the moment. The product I’ve just washed out was the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer EXTREME. I always used the normal strength one in the past with wonderful results - but the new stronger version had no impact. I bet it worked better for Audrey Hepburn….I did manage to get out for a cut to my hairdresser, who is terrific, and he suggested I use an Oreal mask weekly. Nul points. I already take a Vitamin D supplement. I have thrown quite a lot of money at this, so following GN advice I think I’ll now try the Weller, John Frieda, Superdrug and Garnier options mentioned on this and the other thread. Thank you all so much.

So sorry for your loss. It must be so difficult for you Nona4ever. Re your hair, why not go to a salon and ask for a deep conditioning treatment like Olaplex. Works a treat.

So sorry for what you're going through. Some suggestions if you can't face a hairdresser yet. Aussie leave in spray conditioner. Can use on damp or dry hair, brush through, works for me.
Superdrug coconut oil, warm it in jug of water slaver all over hair, sleep on old pillows, shampoo off in morning . Finally vitamin D, I use a spray in mouth, used for covid prevention but it also helps my hair and nails. Good luck.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is easy to neglect yourself when grieving.

Perhaps make an appointment for a good cut to put things to right first, and it may not be as bad as you think. If it is frizzy, maybe tackle it with a blow dryer and smooth brush to tame it a bit. I have heard the blow-dry brushes work well, although I do not own one there were many good reviews here on another post.

Also an anti-frizz styling spray from either a drug store or salon will help to smooth your hair. I use John Frieda Frizz Ease, but I'm not sure if it is available in the UK, but I'm sure you can find something similar.

I'm 2 1/2 years in to this bereavement nonsense and miss my DH so much still. However please believe me when I say it very gradually starts to get a bit better so hang on in there - and then we start worrying about the small stuff like what our hair looks like . Sending hugs

Sorry for your loss, such a difficult time for you. If you can face it, I’d go to a really good hair salon. Preferably one recommended by someone you know.
Ask for a consultation first and let them know what has happened to you and how you fell about your hair. I’m sure a professional stylist will know exactly what to do.

Grey hair seems to have a completely different, thicker texture as it grows through. I've had my long hair cut to shoulder length so it's easier to manage (had it done at the local tattoo parlour, where they also do haircuts).

I use hair oil on the ends to calm down the frizz too. If it's not tied up or back, I'll have a side parting and clip the 'big side' back to keep it off my face. It used to be fine textured - and just hang like curtains, now it needs taming!
