How would you describe how you are feeling in this hot weather?

GrannyGravy - I planted a couple of sprouting new potatoes in a large flower pot - as an experiment - and they have grown really well (watered every day) but how do you know when you can dig them up? Sorry to be dim!

I love this weather, eating, reading and just being outside is a delight.

My pots look fabulous, the veggies are growing, salad at least once a day.

Only downside is I have still got leg in an aircast boot, so shall be applying fake tan to even up when it eventually comes off. (Have cheated a few times, removed it whilst laying on sun lounger, but please don't tell???)

I love it. My arthritis loves it. I am a rare creature who sleeps much better when the weather is hot. My mood is so much better, I can wear summer clothes, the sun gives my skin a lovely glow and I'm more inclined to get on and do things.

I refuse to complain about the heat - such a rarity for a British summer! However, I am struggling a little (a lot) and find short bursts of activity, with many ‘breathers’ is the way to go.

I also ‘glow like a pig’ and am grateful for the good weather to cope with the frequent changes of clothing I am going through.

Now, if only my ironing pile wasn’t growing at a similar rate, I would be laughing!!

Oh 1974 Cookie that exactly the same as I thought... My all time 2nd favourite book. I can see her rocking in her chair on her veranda...exactly spit on to describe what we're going through.

Perhaps one of the enjoyers could describe exactly what it is they enjoy? I’m genuinely puzzled. I find hot weather supremely uncomfortable, don’t like feeling sticky and sweaty and unable to sleep. I can heat my house, but I can’t cool it. I’m beginning to think we should all get air conditioning as routinely as we have central heating.

It is cooler and there is a nice breeze today.
I felt really ill yesterday and ended up doing a big online food order because I was struggling to get out to the shops. I get heat stroke quite often so don't like to go out when it is too hot as it can be embarrassing fainting or feeling that I am about to. If it stays like this I will be happy.
I miss having a shower. Baths are great in the winter but I like a shower when it is hot.

I love it, I lived in Egypt for 13 years so maybe I got used to the heat, I am actually fed up listening to friends and family complaining about this lovely weather. we don't get it often and soon they will all complain about the cold and the wet. I really dislike winter and if this stayed all year round I would love it.

I'll. This heat has triggered my ME/CFS and I do the bare minimum during the day and any housework is done late evening or early morning. At all other times its sleeping long periods with a fan going, and drinking loads.
Showers, on average 2-3 times a day.

I’m finding every excuse to open the freezer and very,very slowly rummage around. Repeat every half hour!

Longing for autumn. I loathe heat, and I can’t sleep. My so-called brain is even more in a fog than usual. I don’t have suitable clothes because heat never lasts as long as this, and I never go to hot places for holidays.

It’s a bit cooler today here in the north west, and due to remain so, but I have to go to the south east at the weekend for my brother’s birthday (he’s 82), and to see my children and grandchildren. Forecast temperature there is 28 or 29.

I was going to say "Wilting" but someone beat me to it. Nothing gets done before about 7 pm. Curtains shut, languishing on bed or settee, drinking loads of tea.

Idle. If it can wait, it waits to be done when I feel like it.

Love it - as long as I don't have to do anything!

Lethargic. No energy to do anything.

Being a "lady" (!) I don't sweat -I glow, right now I am glowing like a pig . Not that I am complaining I would rather have this than grey overcast miserable days

Happy happy happy!! Lots of golf- last year I was rusty by this stage of the summer. It does make my foot swell up but I can cope with that.

Here in London toooo hot. I am sweating like no body's business but DH doesn't seem too affected.....lucky him.

Have visitors staying for several days, so lots to do and places to go, when I would really rather just stay in the cool shower cubicle and never come out.
