How old is too old for an Alice band?

I can't wear them as they hurt my head but the lady in our post office has long hair and wears one - she looks in her 50's. I'd just go by how you feel in it.

I wore one when I was growing my fringe out - I didn't give a thought about being too old to wear it!
An elderly friend of mine used to always wear a black velvet band and it looked very nice.
So 'go for it' I say

I wear slides too Nankate, they are useful when my hair is getting near time for cutting.
I think a black velvet band could look great on the right hairstyle. (nearly burst into song there!)

I like barrettes and get them from a website I use regularly, if you really want headbands though they have some which don't look too bad... Headbands

I'd say 18yrs.
Not many of that age would want to though unless it became the next fashion.
So not much seen on the over 10 age group.

I would certainly visit "Claires" you will find them in most shopping centres they have some pretty velvet ones all different widths,velvet is kinder to your hair as well.
I use one on the days I wear my very long hair down and it keeps it tidy behind my ears.

No one is too old for anything. It's harmless.. Wear your Alice band with pride.

I think it depends on the shape of your face as much as anything. I have a high forehead and a long face and decided at the age of 11 that an Alice band made me look like a horse. My friend's mother, with high cheekbones and a pointy chin wore one into her 80s and looked very elegant.

My specs/sunglasses live on my head and do the same job

"Can't bear..." something as inoffensive as flowers in an older person's hair! Blimey, such tolerance.

My 94 year old mum sometimes wears an "Alice Band." It's made of stiff material in pretty, muted colours. It looks nice and neat and is easy for her to manage.

I'd love to wear Alice bands, if only I had a smaller head! As it is, they always hurt and I invariably end up with a headache.
Also, I'm not sure they'd look right with my glasses. It's the same with woolly hats - they can look a bit odd with glasses. Well, on me they do anyway .
But seriously, why do some think there should be an age limit on them? I don't get it! If you like them and feel comfortable in them, then wear them, whether you're 9 or 90.

I wear glasses so I can see things in focus. I wear woolly hats in winter to keep my head warm. I haven't always worn glasses but I've always worn woolly hats. It's about comfort.

If someone else thinks I look odd my response is "so bloody what?" That has been my response since I was in my mid-teens and my dad said an outfit I was wearing wasn't very feminine. I told him I didn't have to try to be feminine because I as feminine by biological definition. On another occasion a very fashion looks-conscious teacher saw me leaving school (6th form) with a scarf wrapped round my head, tucked under my plaits and then wrapped round my neck and said: "You can't go out looking like that". I said: "Watch me", and left.

The only business anyone else has about how other people look is to enjoy the diversity of people's looks from perfectly in fashion (what fashion? there are thousands of them at any one time) to "ludicrous" and if you don't enjoy the diversity, please do it quietly to yourselves. Its called being polite.

PS She was a very good teacher of French and German.
