Right then, time for a change of grey!

Be careful, as the silver will be a different colour on your white hair to the rest of your colour, and could look odd.Better to have silver blonde highlights put through all your hair, or at least the top to minimise the look of the new hair at the roots.

Although it may not be a permanent colour, on already processed hair it will grip and not wash out as easily.

If it's just a temporary colour it will probably not have much effect at all - perhaps a silvery tinge.

As for clarifying shampoo...

Just apply a bit of the colourant to a strip of hair first, to see if it works, would be my advice. (Long-term colourant user although not on grey/white hair).

Having once gone orange following the home use of a non permanent hair colour, I would. Be very careful next time and now always have hair coloured by a professional.

What about trying an urchin cut then there'd be no need to bother with the dye?

Hello all, well, I decided to get back to my short layered style, (I had been attempting to grow it into a sort of bob) and last week we slapped the colour on!

I'm really pleased with the result, it's supposed to last for about 8 washes. In a mad moment I bought the other colour in the range, Steel, so will give that a go when the Silver has washed out.

Are you happy being grey? I grew my colour out, now that I am grey, I feel I look older and people treat me differently. Want to change it but how? Don't want to always be at the hairdressers sitting about for ages, so if you have any ideas for do it yourself I would love to here them.

I have also grown out the colouring and thought grey was ok. Beginning to think I may try a temporary colour though nothing too dark. Do you think the only alternative is a subtle blonde? Is there such a colour?

Same here lucky and Alima hate being grey but don't want permanent dye.

I've just grown my 'blonde' out,
My hair is now grey at the front and darker at the back. I don't dislike it but have had varying remarks about my decision. I have looked for temporary colours but haven't found anything yet. I think your solution would just make my grey greyer but be ineffective on the back Phoenix.

My sister has her shoulder length hair permanently died a lovely blonde at her hairdressers, her partner has never seen her with a grey hair. She looks so much younger because if it. However, she spends a fortune and many hours in the hairdressers having it done, she said she would rather go without good than be grey. I just couldn't face it each month and wants an easy fix. A semi permanent would still have build up I fear. Grey is in at the moment but young people look could with green or purple, you can look good in a bin liner. Grey with wrinkles is not a good look.
