Would you tell your hairdresser if she made you look horrible?

I've been going to her for years and we even meet up for a coffee every now and then so I really consider her a friend. But she's done such a bad job on my hair. The cut is too short for me and uneven. I didn't know what to say but I hate it. I daren't go back...
