Turkey neck -help!

Light reflecting foundation/powder would help, and would certainly help with the wedding photos.

I don't know of magic potions - I've heard of firming creams but I don't think the effect lasts long.
You can get jewelery chokers - made of small pearls or flowers etc with dangly things below, more suitable than a scarf for a wedding.

You remind me of Nora Ephron who wrote "I feel bad about my neck" - short of having one of those "thread lifts" - where they hoik the skin up with something akin to barbed wire or fish hooks (tiny, but still), I think Tegan's advice is the best.

Alea No one will notice your neck, they'll be too busy admiring your hair! I'm sure it's not half as bad as you think.

I had some passport photos taken after overdoing the Touch Eclat and it gave me an eerie glow [albeit hiding the wrinkles]...

Kind of disagree with wearing necklaces. I always used to wear necklaces and have a collection of lovely ones but rarely rear them now as I feel they draw attention to my chin and neck. I do think v necks are flattering though if the skin in that area is good.

I agree about v neck styles - draw attention away from the neck itself.
That's what I do, because I have a short neck and don't like scarves or necklaces.

No hat, (also wearing no make up, unlike on The Day) thinking of a big, bold hammered silver type necklace to go below the neckline, if short then short enough to stay above it, IYSWIM

Do you use moisturiser on your neck and face to get your skin - get as plumped up as possible?

I don't think you have a turkey neck as I'm nervously peering at mine in the mirror with squinty eyes

I can't see a turkey neck, but if you feel conscious that you do have one, some beautiful earrings would draw attention away from it.

DD recommended a tightening serum for the face (Clarins do one, other makes must be available ). It probably should work on the neck too; could you go into JL or Boots and see if they can try some on you before you splash out on some?

Is that Clarins Baume Eclair? Might give that a go.( Any sort of eclair would do actually )

I think earrings would be better than a necklace. They will distract from the neck area and there doesn't look to be really enough room for a necklace.

Don't worry about your neck Alea, it's absolutely fine. Plus, who is going to notice, no one. My mum had a trick when photographs were being taken, she'd say 'necks up girls' - we still do it (and look slightly crackers of course)

A pair of glam earrings of your choice would balance out the whole outfit and you'll look fabulous, Alea (love the hair colour, BTW)

I haven't tried it myself, but Preparation H is said to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

anno I've also heard that, people use it to improve the appearance of bags under the eyes . It makes sense when you think of it, it shrinks things.

I do have a long rope of pearls (sort of mid diaphragm) and a standard length necklace. Has anybody ever seen a clip with which you can turn a long rope into a double necklace(without just twisting it round the head?) By twisting the strands before you clip them you can shorten it to make a choker too.
I fancied something really showy (?) although as my mum would have said"Nobody's going to be looking at you" !

Right! DD is a wedding photographer. She tries to give me tips on how to present myself before a photograph (but has given up on me as I am so hopeless! - honestly! 'Oh, Mum!'). Lift head, tilt slightly to one side then lower head slightly. Smile, don't grin. I think that's it. Don't blame me if the photos are terrible and you look unnatural!!
