Do you buy a range of clothes, whatever takes your fancy, or are you like me of late, I keep buying different versions of clothing I already have. More jeans, more 7/8th trousers, more shirts, more t shirts. My purchases are now very predictable. Once upon a time I had an eclectic range of clothes. not any more. What about you?
I think the point is that the older you get the more you realise what styles suit you. My clothes now tend to be jeans for winter and linen trousers for summer. I have a couple of long skirts for summer and half a dozen long dresses for summer. Jumpers or tunic style tops for the winter, and T shirts and vest tops in the summer. I have a it of M&S, although I don't like much of their stuff at the moment. Lots of Joe Brown, either bought in the sales or on eBay. And my favourite at the moment is a Whitestuff dress which was £6 at a carboot sale!
I tend to use the same very few online retailers, and buy much the same things.
I’m going to need new summer trousers soon (last lot pretty much worn out) and am already hoping that it won’t yet again be largely a selection of mostly very-over-wide leg, barrel leg, crops and ankle- grazers, non of which I want! 🤞someone will be offering good quality cotton/linen/a mix, in a slightly wide, straight, ankle length style.
Talking of M and S. I went in there yesterday to buy some new nicks for my holiday. There was practically a whole floor of bras but all I could find in the knicker line was 4 small stands with nicks at £6 each or 3 for 2. Didn't they used to be 4 for £10? Didn't they used to sell 5 in a pack? The ones on the stands were universally nasty synthetic fabric,I wanted cotton bikini style, nice colours. Could I find the packs or anything in cotton? Searched high and low but couldn't find any. Then gave up.
At that price I would want it to give me an automatic breast increase, be totally self laundering to the point where it put itself back in the wardrobe!
I'm trying new things (for me) 7/8 trousers and baggy harem pants - the latter are lovely and comfy but DH says they are pyjamas - great for loafing about in. I'm usually in the same shops or on line Boden, Joules, White Stuff, Monsoon, Sea salt - middle aged lady with no sense of style and limited budget that kind of thing.
I used to be a sale junkie too, Ana , but to try to avoid a real impulse purchase, I used to try to restrict myself to only buying things that would "go" with something that I already had. (Smug emoticon)
All went to pot over an expensive top that had been reduced by lots. I was certain that the colour of it would go with something that I already had, so bore it home in triumph!
It was only then that I realised that the colour that was in my mind was the damn lining of a suit
