Rock hard hair spray required

Liminetta I used to have perms and for a while my hair looked good but by about week 6 it was losing its bounce, so now I am a convert to Fat Hair and the smell is ok for me and it does the trick.

Now onto colour as I have gone grey/white haired the progress has been different e.g. darker at back than the front, fringe darker than hair on top and I really like it, similar to the highlights I used to have. Even the hairdressers has commented on it. I do realise this won't last but it is nice that at the age of 67 I am satisfied with the colour.

I went and bought some Fat Hair products, and if you think Elnett spray smells bad, you haven't tried the Fat Hair spray!

Glad you like it Glamma. I found the usual mousse too soft for my hair and when my hairdresser's supplier discontinued their gel to mousse I scoured the shops realising gel to mousse was hard to find then I did eventually find the perfect solution with the Fat Face products.

I don't like lacquers that set my hair like concrete. A hairdresser once used a spray that kept my hair feeling soft but kept it in place. I changed hairdressers after that because I didn't like his cut, so I've never found out what that hairspray was. Any suggestions?

I took the advice of Agus and tried out Fat Face products from Superdrug and have been very pleased with the results although my hair is very long it has loads of volume and bounce so thanks for that Agus,it certainly does you good when people compliment you doesn't it liminetta it sounds as though you are very pleased with your results.

I meant to say, my hair has always been hard to manage, being flat, lacking volume.Tried everything.My friend eventually persuaded me to go to her very expensive hairdresser and get a fashionable cut.Followed her advice, but my hair eventually assumed its natural position, and I was penniless! Hello, NanKateI , Gce of some volume, but it went back to the same flatno-character building style, stuck to my head thing.
So, I decided to have a gentle perm(demi-wave). Result!My hair is so much easier to manage; I am very pleased with it, and people all compliment me on looking so much better, it suits you, etc.I,me Happy!

Like Lona I use L'Oreal Sculpting Spritz Ultra Strong hold. It is the ONLY stuff I have found that stops my little bit of hair dropping.

It is like glue but effective. They have now changed the bottle and I am not 100% convinced it is as strong as it was.

NanKate I don't think perfume is the word to describe the smell of Elnett!

Since Agus kindly put me in the direction of Fat hair products I have had much more manageable hair, so many thanks.

Also Lona I did not realise that Elnett could come without the perfume, so yet again this is the place to come for advice on anything.

Janeatha I also use the Aussie 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner for volume.

Now I need to start on sorting out my puffy eyes.

I also have very fine flat hair. But I have a spikey hairdo that I use gel to spike up and then hairspray. It doesn't move all day. Both gel and hairspray are the cheap ones. I think if you have longish hair it doesn't help. Short and spikey is easy to manage.

I use Tresemme Freeze Hold too. It stays in place all day at work!! I use Aussie Volume Shampoo and conditioner and Trevor Sorbie volume mousse.

I have very fine limp hair - Tigi Queen for a Day root lift spray and their blow dry liquid is great- I also blow dry up side down for lift, and then Velcro roller till I step out the door

I haven`t used hairspray since I was about 19, my hair was getting so gunged up with it at the front that I looked to be going prematurely grey! Took me ages to get it out, and never used it again.

roses, yes! I think I'd rather have limp locks than be a helmet-head - but each to their own!

NanKate the Elnet in the white can doesn't have that awful smell.

Hope that nobody wants to run their fingers through it then.

Tresemme Freeze Hold hairspray is good for keeping the scaffolding in place, once you've got your hair as plumped up as you want it. Even the strong winds don't blow it out.

Same here! It keeps my hair, once put up, in an iron grip! Therefore I don't have to touch it all day!

I've been using Elnet since it first arrived on the market about 50 years ago! I like it because I can brush it out before I go to bed.

I popped into Superdrug and they had the FatHair products half price. I bought the spray which I will use tomorrow when I wash my hair. I also
got the lacquer which I tried today and it gave a lovely firm feel, so thanks Agus.

I will try some of the other products mentioned too - so thanks ladies. I am hoping my limp hair will be a thing of the past.

I use Fat Hair - Thickening Gel to Mousse and either Fat Hair Lacquer or Shockwaves level 5, the strongest hold. You can buy these in Superdrug.
