Not on a witch hunt but does anybody think that their quality is dropping? Their clothes are not top end but they are not Matalan! Bought a replacement pair of slippers identical to the ones I bought 2 years ago that had finally got holes in the sole, got these new ones in December and they are worn out already!! Also have bought various tops and trousers over the last year that are really showing wear already - £28 for a pair of joggers that had a wide elastic waistband that has rolled over and twisted rendering them too uncomfortable to wear now! I think that I will pay off my account and ask them not to send me any more of those horrendously expensive catalogues in the future. Is it just me?

I agree, I have just bought a pair of their jeans, not cheap, looked lovely and fitted well when first worn, after a few hours went all soft and baggy looking, waste of money.

I think quality is dropping in a lot of clothes stores, M&S in particular. I have started trading up to more expensive stores whose clothes last longer, it is cheaper in the long run.

I love Gudren Sjoden clothes, quite expensive and don't buy as often as I would like to but different, well made and very wearable.

Agree about NEXT and others who are compromising on quality to keep their prices down. I too like CC, Viyella, Woolovers, Landsend, East and Walll (but pricey!) among others.
NEXT clothes seem so flimsy and poorly finished - used to be much better.

Phase eight, chesca, east,Peruvian connection, are whom I normally buy from.
I have to shop on line as I can't manage shops!

Galen, agree. I am a big fan of Phase 8, and East, although do not recognise other two. Also Landsend, Monsoon and Wallis.

Although I live in a rural area and do not really enjoy clothes shopping I avoid buying online because, Landsend apart, nearly all the clothes I order online get sent back because they do not fit properly or for quality reasons, or looking nice on the site but not suiting me when I try them on.

I was in M & S looking at their Per Una range. Some of the skirts seemed to be made of crimplene. The whole range to me was dowdy.

I have lots of pairs of jeans from Next but I bought them a couple of years ago so they may be better quality than those currently on sale. Absentdaughter bought a few pairs too when she in the UK in 2010. They don't go baggy within hours of putting them on but like most pairs of jeans – especially cheap ones – they are only good for one day's wear and need to be washed and ironed to restore them. I never buy any clothes, other than underwear, from M & S. They always look really frumpy and unattractive.

I like Kaliko and Alex (used to be Alexon) as I find they are good quality and they suit me. But I only shop in the Sales as they are too pricey otherwise.
