Certainly paracetamol doesn't help much in the Climbing the Wooden Hills to Bedfordshire event.

Can I enter the How Long Can You Speak Before You Forget What You’re Talking About event? I’ve been in serious training for a long time now!

Just been watching race walking for 50km in actual Olympics. I reckon I could enter extremely slow walking with tea and cake stops for 1km. OH has kindly volunteered to pour water over me to keep me cool. Red flags would be for excessive stopping to look in shop windows or for phoning OH for a lift.

Not very physically taxing, but “reading the thread” GN event.

Justwokeup, that walk always looks really tiring. I wonder if they have hip problems when they’re older?

No one said these games had to be clean or fair. A cheeky wee Nytol will be just the ticket for the snoozing events. ?

I'd forgotten that! Amazing that some of us are still able to compete!!

Doing laps round the Garden Centre - with or without baton/trolley changes when nature calls.

Extra points for buying only plants rather than foodstuffs, clothes and a jolly useful silicone steamer.

Being able to have your grandchildren stood in front of you and managing to call them all by the correct names. If you call one by the dog's name it's instant disqualification.

I did that with my children and I would have had an age disqualification back then ?

My tip is to silently go through the alphabet when trying to remember a name. If you get to Z three times without remembering, instant disqualification.

Sorry but I think the Gransnet Olympic thread was 2016 and not 2012!! I joined Gransnet in 2015 (I think)

The standing in the aisle at the supermarket with your trolley blocking everyone else the longest event. Disqualified if you let anyone through within 5 minutes.
