Are you having a New Year break, GNHQ?

Both yesterday and today, my self and others reported posts, but so far there has been no response from GNHQ.
Its all a bit strange and a tad worrying.
There is no point in having a self moderating site, if no- one responds. sad

Nortsat, hmm... maybe many of the ads on GN are, in the judgment of ad pushers providers, regarded as grandparent friendly rather than specific to individuals.

Until they decide to give us an 'edit' function to change or delete our own threads, it's absolutely essential that moderators are available all the time.

Potentially serious mistakes happen, and are not always obvious until a post appears on screen.

I've known this happen with photos, where a poster has sensibly blacked out any personal details, but then later discovers that on screen, those details are still faintly visible.

It needs to be possible to rectify such things the moment they are spotted.

Come on, Gransnet, sort yourselves out, and if you can't guarantee 24/7 moderation, at least give us the 'edit' function!

I doubt we will get an edit function ever.

This is a talk forum for the 1990s (tech level, not age related!).

When Mumsnet Premium was launched there was talk of one of the benefits being an edit function, but it was soon scrapped.

Hi everyone - a very Happy New Year!

Just to reassure you, we are around and have been moderating the forums over the weekend. We're aware that Friday wasn't moderated, and we're looking into why this was and can assure you this was a fluke rather than us taking a New Year's break, as we do have someone moderating every day (even on Christmas Day!). smile

There was also a tech issue on Saturday which meant that reports weren't dealt with as quickly as we wanted, but all reports were looked at and dealt with as soon as possible.

We do hope this clears things up, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. flowers

Paver boots ad today. Seems the advertisers pick up what's occurring on GN.

So, presumably someone's keen on Soreen.
