...as bitching on a very sensitive thread is not a good idea.
a) I have already explained my position on the thread in question.
b) Nothing wrong with my arguments. Bloody sight more sensible than some on here. And they don't come from up my backside, being as my head isn't there. Unlike some.
Walnuts are much too expensive. I joined Gransnet three + years ago when I needed some advice and a listening ear on a difficult time. I got that advice and comfort from many Gransnetters. I nearly left shortly after that as there was a very vitriolic thread running with, what appeared many personal attacks, eventually some were given the red card and disappeared. There have been many occasions when the empathy shown by GNers has been truly outstanding but also other times when the bitchiness truly awful. Yes we should be able to express our sentiments freely but there is also the need to respect others opinions without personal comments, or comments taken to be personal. In some debates recently, in my opinion, a line has been crossed. In this I agree with the original poster. A little light interlude within a thread is also ok. I feel the need also to add that I am not pointing any finger at anyone and if you think a finger is being pointed I wonder why.
Greenfinch, you are correct, it is about nothing, in fact just a lot of hot air.I agree with POGS, there is too much ' poor little me' on a lot of threads.

if you can't see just how wrong this is- then there is little hope, heat or no-heat!
Since I joined (? Oct.2013) I haven't seen arguments on here that upset me - most people can fend for themselves. What I don't like (seen it elsewhere) is when a particularly strong person attracts a following group, and then they all attack any opposition. Someone recently mentioned leader of a coven. Up to now, I haven't seen that on here.
