I must admit that I've always found it strange that on Mnet they seem to change their names at will.

Maybe, just maybe, HQ are trying to prevent well weird people from easily rejoining [and we've had a few of those lately]. Don't see what all the fuss is about .

And there can be nothing wrong with changing your name to "Orlakieleyhandbags" for a couple of hours on a name change thread, just to have a bit of a laugh. Which is what started this all off. (I pointed out in my email to HQ that I would want to change back to jinglebellfrocks shortly.

You have taken a sentence from my post of 10.55 today and I would like to point out that I am confused by your answer. Not a big deal but if you 'allow' a poster to change his/her name for anonymity I think I am confused as to why a poster declared his/her name has changed .

I stand by my post where I did say I think it is perfectly in order to change your name for personal reasons so I am a bit surprised that you pick that sentence out amongst the other posts.

Yes, I agree some do make it pretty obvious who they were in a previous incarnation as POGS says and I wonder why they bothered. If a person is no longer blue then that makes me think they needed to change their name for personal reasons and I think we would all respect that.

I tend to agree with Pogs. I find it really confusing if people come back as someone else (unless it's obvious eg jings and bags) unless they tell us. I especially find it difficult if they aren't blue'd either as there are absolutely no clues at all. I tend not to analyse writing styles but take on board the sentiments expressed.

Presumably, that means I am a bear of little brain or having arguments on GN doesn't loom large enough in my life!

I can see the point of a change of name over a privacy issue, but otherwise it seems a strange thing to do.
