Ban the microbeads

It is difficult to tell.
The sad thing is they will have to go into landfill.

I sometimes think about this conundrum:

'What is the best invention of the last century (and a bit)?'
'What is the worst invention of the last century (and a bit)?'

In both instances I could answer plastic

I am now looking for microbeads in the products I have at home and will chuck them away. I won't knowingly buy any from now on. It's the only contribution I can make yo this problem.

I said on a different thread that I didn't know what to do, but it looks like the products I use - not tested on animals - might already be doing something about this.

It's surprising how many different things seem to go on at the same time in government. Different departments I suppose.

I was offered a free tube of 'facial scrub' the other day when I bought some cosmetics (hope they don't contain microbeads!)
I said No Thanks.
However, I didn't realise they probably contained plastic.

Yes, but no-one seems to have had enough clout to get the EU moving so perhaps a bit of shouting may work!

I don't this is exclusive to the Daily Mail though. Plenty of scientists and environmentalists are up in arms about it.

Ridiculous to put bits of plastic into anything people use on a daily basis. Where do they think they are going to end up if not in the oceans?
