Car tax

I had to tax my car and googled car tax. At the top of the list and before the proper gov. Site there was a box in which the registration could be entered. I thought this was a proper site and had put my payment number in and just in time saw the sentence about a recurring charge of 5.99 a month! Phew thank goodness I noticed. I deleted everything and googled the company and it seems they are a scam. Premium rates for phones, nuisance calls etc. Cannot remember the name of the company but in terms of paying car tax always go through the .gov site. It did look genuine though and I am usually very careful and sensible!
