Went for another type of cardiac stress test, passed that, half an hour later pre-op assessment. So lucky they were both done on same day.Letter next day, said, stop Clopidogrel and come into hospital Monday 5th,for operation on the Tuesday 6th March. Phone call to say, ignore letter of appointment. Can you come to the ward for admission Sunday 4th and for op on Monday 5th.We waited for three hours, another man told his wife to go home as it was getting dark.30 miles home,so he said I should go.Next day he was seen by anaesthetist ,nil by mouth and was to be number 6 on the list.Bloods taken again. At 2.30pm seen by surgeon.More bloods done.He phoned at nearly 7.00 pm.He was being discharged.I said I really felt ill,we had thought he would be going to theatre, any minute, all day. They suggested that I pick him up this morning.I felt so terrible for him,a 69yo diabetic, starved all day,no heart meds given.Discharge letter says they had not got the necessary information about where the stents had been inserted from the hospital that had fitted them. They also said they were concerned about his bloods. He has to stop Clopidogrel ,this coming Friday 11th,go for admission on 15th and for op on 16th March. It seems so odd that the information abouts the stents was not noticed until the operation was imminent. So frightening.
