We're looking for 500 people to be part of a new panel over the next year; The Chocolate Forum. We're looking for a wide range of people to take part, including gransnetters and non gransnetters - so if you know someone who might be interested please do pass this email on. It's open to everyone including those with children, without children, grans and granddads.

We can't say too much at the moment but in brief this will involve working with Kinnerton confectionery and Mumsnet/Gransnet over the next year to help develop ideas for new chocolate products as well as discussing their current ranges (there may also be some taste testing involved too!)

If you are selected to be part of the panel you will need to commit to taking part in at least six activities between now and September 2014. Some of these projects may have quite a quick turn around and responses will often be needed within one week. Each task will be incentivised with a prize draw.

So if you'd like to be part of The Chocolate Forum please sign up here. There are quite a few questions on the sign up form as we really need to ensure we recruit a wide range of people so please bear with us. If you're selected your name and address may be passed onto Kinnerton so they can send you items relating to research tasks, however none of your other details will be passed on to anyone.

We'll be in touch with those selected soon.

Thanks and good luck,

Katie @ GNHQ

NB this has already been sent to the GN research panel so if you've already signed up there's no need to sign up again.

Can we have another one grin missed this one wink

kittylester Thu 12-Dec-13 10:39:40

DGS2 really enjoyed the [broken] gingerbread men. I think it is the first time he has tasted ginger in that form - he kept taking a bite then looking at the biscuit in confusion then having to try it again to check. One biscuit kept him quiet for ages! tchgrin

Just wanted to say my package was at the PO for two weeks as I was in Dubai visiting family.
Delighted, thanks , to receive a fun pack of chocs, esp the plain chocolate goodies.

Lindylooby Fri 29-Nov-13 08:57:43

Printmiss, look like our packs were the same. Mine arrived intact as well, grandson and I have enjoyed chomping through the goodies all week.
love doing surveys, so hopefully there will be more!

PRINTMISS Fri 29-Nov-13 08:39:38

After reading all these, I was not expecting too much, but my parcel came intact with a packet of Walnut Whips some fudge, four finger bars of choc, a bag of choc nuts and gingerbread men, I am only saying this because I think a balance needs to be kept. Also been asked to complete another survey, which I don't think I will be able to do, but never-the-less, I enjoyed the exercise, and my son in law will enjoy the chocs (he is a choc-aholic).

kittylester Thu 28-Nov-13 10:53:14

Yes, thank you Katie! I was never expecting too much in the way of chocolate and but was still sorely disappointed in the battered selection that arrived. Not one of my gingerbread men was intact. sad

Thanks, Katie. The confusion arises from the sentence in your original post 'there may also be some taste testing.' You can't hint to Gransnetters that they might be sampling chocolate, without setting up high expectations! grin

glammanana Thu 28-Nov-13 09:27:03

Mine not arrived as yet.sad

So sorry some of your welcome packs were damaged in the post, we're not sure how this happened and can only apologise.

The welcome packs are a selection of Kinnerton products and were put together in order to demonstrate the kinds of product lines you are helping to shape. Due to the nature of the confectionery industry and timescales, it isn't always possible to taste test the products we're gathering your opinions on. However, we have noted that taste testing is something members of the Chocolate Forum would like to get involved with and will pass on this feedback.

Thanks to everyone who is taking part, your input is greatly appreciated and is really helping to shape Kinnerton's confectionery offering flowers

I've emailed GNHQ to ask them what's going on - this doesn't seem to be following the usual pattern of participation in surveys.

petallus Wed 27-Nov-13 13:54:55

Mine came yesterday. A bit battered. I am not overwhelmed.

kittylester Wed 27-Nov-13 13:33:26

Sorry when got my [] confused with my **!!

Sook Wed 27-Nov-13 10:45:42

I too was under the impression that we would sent chocolate and then answer a survey.

kittylester Wed 27-Nov-13 10:38:19

Yours sound just like mine [when] - a bit disappointing!

whenim64 Wed 27-Nov-13 09:53:57

Mine arrived just now, repackaged by the Post Office and in a bad state. Gingerbread men broken, chocolate squashed, and there were three foiled square chocolates in a separate envelope which can't have been damaged in transit but look like they've been knocked about and undone before being put in the envelope. What's that about?

I thought we would be sent chocolate to test and answer a survey, but apparently not?

Sook Tue 26-Nov-13 17:27:36

Mine arrived yesterday thank you. The Walnut Whips were slightly battered but everything else fine.

glammanana Tue 26-Nov-13 13:41:12

Not received mine as yet so am very full of envy with those who have I may get a delivery to-day sometime and get tasting.

Lindylooby Tue 26-Nov-13 12:36:07

Thank you gransnet, merrily chomping my way through the goodies I received yesterday, although I will let dgc have gingerbread men, the rest aremine, all mine!

kittylester Mon 25-Nov-13 16:36:52

You sound as though yours were better than mine Lindylooby sad

Lindylooby Mon 25-Nov-13 14:47:34

It's arrived, quite a few bits, already tried the chocolate pretzels and the fudge and fruit chocolate krispies! Yum, yum

kittylester Mon 25-Nov-13 13:20:27

My gingerbread men were all broken too!

I said ^ that I wasn't expecting a lot in the way of chocolate but I'm disappointed with the quality and state of what I did get. sad

petallus Mon 25-Nov-13 12:37:11

Still waiting for mine.

Good job for them that we are more reliable than they are.

Lindylooby Mon 25-Nov-13 12:14:22

Still waiting for mine too!sad

Sook Mon 25-Nov-13 12:10:45

I'm still waiting for mine too.

kittylester Mon 25-Nov-13 12:02:50

Mine came this morning. I got a packet of walnut whips, a packet of gingerbread men (no chocolate!!) some chocolate coated raisins and 3 rather battered, foil covered squares of chocolate. sad
