Dog and cat sitting in Switzerland?

Ah thanks. Not going far at all, with my big brother who is train mad. Lots of mountain gog trains, funiculars and cable-cars- which Yata would not enjoy at all. We are going to Italy next month and she will be with us.

Thanks all. Looks like I have found someone for our next trip- an expat (immigrant) from UK who lives not too far and would love to visit our region.

I have a dog and cat that I love and if I didn't have ties here I would say yes, Fleur. It sounds a wonderful opportunity for someone.

DD does this, loves dogs, but unfortunately is allergic to cats. 🐈

If anyone might be interested for another time, even next year- do get in touch. If we get sitter at any time, we will take opportunity to travel. Anywhere in UK or central Europe, Yata jumps in the car with us and lovely neighbour looks after Minou 3 legs. But from time to time, it is nice to go a bit beyond, where she can't come with us.

EuroStar + TGV, EasyJet to Geneva or 8 hr drive with a couple of good stops from Calais.

We live in a non touristy area, so prices are more reasonable here than in tourist spots- up to 50% less. And we live very close to French border, so we shop and eat out mostly on French side.

Sounds wonderful. I'd be there in a heartbeat if I didn't have other commitments.

One of my friends was a "house sitter" and often looked after animals. You need someone like her. It would suit someone (active retired) who had an independent income as Switzerland is an expensive country.

Well yes, Oreo. Just thought it might be a good idea as our wonderful kennels have cancelled 3 weeks before departure.

I have a solution- really nice neighbour, with lovely dog and fenced garden- but she works all day (come home for lunch) and I know Yata would prefer to have someone here. If not for this time, another time. If we get a sitter, we will take the opportunity to travel.

Sounds marvellous, if only we didn’t have jobs would be there in a flash.
Would suit a retired couple so it’s on the right site.

In the UK we have Trusted Housesitters. Friends use it successfully. People are vetted - pet owner pays annual fee of about £80and can use the service as often as they want

My sister and her husband were Housesitters - they live in Manchester but had several happy stays dog sitting in the Paris area
