My username says it all. This is my gorgeous, loyal, loving boy. Hate that he's 12 in February. He's my everything - never want to say goodbuye to him.
We’ve only had rescues. Penny was a border collie cross and adorable, so very gentle and obedient. Dylan is a French breed, Bassett Fauve de Bretagne, who we rescued in Spain. He has not been easy to train, but after 5 years is such a lovely boy, sociable, affectionate and can be noisy! We love them all, no favourite breeds.

MadeInYorkshire I’ve just read your utterly heartbreaking post. I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope and pray you can find the strength and help you clearly need. Have you tried to speak to your GP or practice nurse? Easier said than done but perhaps if you could open up to them they would act to find you the help and support you desperately need. Also you will find a sympathetic ear on the Samaritans help line.

I have been pretty broken now since I became unable to work, which I loved, and as my health has declined considerably since then, my depression has got more severe - then that happened ...
My GP is excellent, (he cried when it happened as he was her GP too) however when I was really struggling one day, I couldn't get to speak to or see him, and some locum Dr insisted that I go in to the surgery as he was very concerned about my MH. I went in, he was very worried and referred me to the counselling service, the surgery social Prescriber and gave me some online links (which I wouldn't use!) The Social Prescriber finally rang 2 weeks ago but I still haven't seen her, and I have heard not a thing from the counselling service! However, my daughter found a group of people affected by suicide, and I am joining a group on a Friday on Zoom, which has helped as we are all in the same boat as it were. Hopefully after the 6 weeks is up we can all keep talking?

*icanhandthemback - those words were how my daughter felt when calling them, she was very eloquent in her sadness. We tried and tried to get her admitted - how many times does someone have to keep taking their life until someone listens? However, please don't hold your breath about the MH Unit - I have heard from some people for whom it just made matters worse, sadly, although if she is younger I think there may be more hope.
I haven't actually put a picture of my darling boy on here so will hunt for some now .... and have to include Dora too (not sure how you add more than 3 piccies though so will do a couple of posts. Some funny ones!
