Cat hairs driving me nuts.

Cats shed hairs. It is part and parcel of having a cat. What you feed them has no effect on the shedding. Brushing helps a bit. Cats that are able to roam outdoors will shed some of their hair out there too. Otherwise, you just have to hoover. Often. I´ve noticed that when under stress, my cat sheds a lot more. Also at certain times of the year (autumn and spring). I have one long-haired cat and the hair is everywhere, in spite of the frequent sweeping and hoovering.

What a fool I was to choose ( though actually she chose us) my black and white rescue cat. So on dark colours the white hairs show and on the black the white stand out.

I have 2 short haired and 2 long haired cats and after years of using sticky back rollers, I finally found the pretty-near perfect hair remover. I live in the US and this is called a nail brush used to clean dirty or muddy hands.
It works best on upholstered furniture, bedspreads, fleece jackets, etc.

I had a pure white cat (sadly had to have to put to sleep last year) and she left hair everywhere. One of the best things I found to collect hair from carpets etc was a rubber brush, it was amazing how much it collected even after hoovering. They are not expensive, I bought mine from local garden centre but you can get them online. Sellotape best things for clothes.
I miss her still, but it is lovely to be able to wear black/navy again lol.

I've had several cats over the years and currently have a white short hair and silver tabby - the hair is a constant issue but a rubber glove, a spray bottle of water with a drop of conditioner does help to remove it (not to spray the cat of course!)

My cats eat the same as yours and moult at this time of year. The hairs from the black and white one show on everything. I just vacuum regularly. He also has dandruff at times and over-grooms. The Vet recommended Coatex capsules which are cut open and emptied into one meal a day, which give him a glossy healthier coat.

I use either the rubber brush for brushing the cat to remove their hairs from furniture, carpets or clothes, or an ordinary sponge for scouring pots. Wring it out in cold water and use the abrasive side unless you are removing hairs from a very delicate fabric.

It takes time to do a whole carpet, but the sight of me on hands and knees removing their hairs from the sitting room carpet really does make our two cats laugh!

The down side of having pets. I vacuum at least once a day, wash dog towels and dog bed covers weekly, my life would be much easier without my dogs. I would miss out on so much love and fun though it makes it worthwhile.
