Andy Burnham’s dad has died after suffering Alzheimer’s

I agree that he should be relieved of PMQs but only if he wants that to be the case.

Ed Davey has sent a very kind response to this news. It's good to see compassion and respect triumphing over party politics.

Very sad ,and that he didn't know his son was PM. Though I think he would have been proud of him anyway. Ed Davey is compassionate and he would send a lovely message.

Like her or not I thought Kemi Badenoch's words of condolence were lovely and so true

I'm sure witnessing his father's decline will have influenced AB in his prioritising of social care. I hope he can achieve his aims.

Yes there have been some sincerely worded commiserations from across the political spectrum. Which I am sure would always be the case because human loss and suffering transcends political squabbles.

Grief will be an added burden to an already heavy load for Andy to bear.
So sad he has lost his beloved dad.
