I'm very sorry if it sounded like a threat, not my intention.

I feel it is safe to post but of course you are free to choose.

I don't see a left wing echo chamber.

Why compare N F with Hitler just for trying to save our country?

Please start a thread and let's have some sensible debate. The site is carefully monitered by the mods.

Why do you want me to start a thread and have a sensible debate on what? I tend to try to avoid commenting on political threads now because in my view it has become a left wing echo chamber.

I also have no intention of trying to defend NF and getting a whole barrage from some posters.

Also I know the mods monitor posts, it sounds like a threat but I have posted nothing offensive.

Please describe to us, if you so wish, what Farage has done, is doing, that makes you believe he is trying to save our country.

I just hope that when elections or byelections are held, that these snippets of films are played so that those with very short memories can be reminded of the real attitudes of these people, compared to their smarmy and pretended comments they make in public. As for Farage, looking at history there was Hitler with Oswald Mosley here. Now we have Trump and Farage in similar fashion or if you prefer Putin and Farage.

It's not a case of right, left, centre, it's a matter of sheer decency, Meandrogrog

I am not disagreeing but some of the posts on here are very goady in my opinion.

If Reform ever gained power I believe it would not be too long before there would be serious civil unrest on the streets not able to be controlled by the current diminished police force, and the threats, promises, or policies - whatever you might want to call them, regarding cutting welfare and the social services (including medical) - would have such a disastrous effect not only on individuals but within the labour market, that I truly think democracy UK would start to unravel.

If, as has been touted, Reform were to carry out their alleged 'programme' of deportation of asylum seekers and immigrants recently approved - how would this operation be carried out? Who will be doing the 'rounding-up', where will these immigrants be deported to? Will we see ICE-type agents with balaclavas or face coverings roaming around our streets, knocking on doors, bundling people into cars or trucks? Would Reform allow these 'agents' to be armed?

And what is in store for women? Reform councillors may not all be misogynists, but too many appear to be sexist. The current party Chairman, Lee Anderson, described by former Conservative MP, Anna Soubry, as an "odious sexist" is on record making derogatory comments about women; he also allegedly was rejected by a Labour interview panel when applying to become a councillor because of his views on a woman's place which he stated was "at home in the kitchen with the children".

Are these the men that "our women" want as their "protectors"?

I’m afraid you’re not as well informed as you may think if you truly believe only the “left” condemn some Reform Councillors views and use of language.

People from every party now have commented with utter distaste across the last 12 months about Reform’s approach to certain minority groups and their use of what many consider to be inflammatory language.

The LibDems opened their conference this year with their own leader taking a massive “dig” at Farage and his not-so merry men and a huge warning about the kind of PM Farage might be.

KB certainly has made her feelings very plain and actually I think you’d struggle to find any MP in Parliament, from any party that would say anything positive about Farage.

I wonder why?

Raymond Dunning, a Reform councillor in Tameside, Greater Manchester, was also recorded saying he would deport legal migrants and wished to train young men "so they can go street-by-street, house-by-house picking the c** up"

Perhaps a few posters who are in favour could join in?

Who would want to join in and get attacked? These political threads are just becoming an echo chamber for left wing views. I have noticed a lot of posters have stopped commenting.

Please do take this opportunity to start a thread. I don't think everybody who is anti Reform is left wing. I noticed KB distancing herself from them loud and clear.

ITV report not ITC.

Wyllow3 Fri 16-Oct-26 19:11:15

Meandrogrog you are always welcome to start a thread, giving facts and figures that put a different POV

You won't be attacked for well reasoned arguments on the actual subject

But if you make personal accusations of others then the obvious would happen,

Maybe it is the case that far from being some kind of takeover by lefties, GN people don't wish, atm, to support Reform, because of recent evidence like the ITC report or the amount of money Farage is personally been given that is under investigation.

Fro example those who might post as you suggest on the accusations of racism in the Party, defending some of the comments,

but will not currently support Reform with its misogynistic comments.

Most of us are women, and nasty sexist locker room - or worse, aspects of actual abuse against women - well right leaning GN's may not wish to defend Reform on that?

I know you don’t like them but to tar everyone in that party with the same brush is just libellous.I don’t like them, either and I don’t like the Green Party there or the ones here but I would never, ever judge them by individuals. Dig deep and you would find nasty people in every single party ,of that I am certain. The Labour Party are no Saints, far from it. Same applies to the Conservatives I am sure.

Well in Aus, nanna, you wont have been able to watch on catch up the ITV investigation that was on last night, but you Can read the ITV detailed description of the investigation that gives quotes and proof.

It is not libellous and Reform are not claiming it is so, rather promising to "Clean Up" its act.

I welcome your comments on this article therefore:

Can you even begin to imagine the public outcry from Farage et al if any person of colour was observed speaking about white Brits in this way?

And yet, here we are with some of his lovely supporters getting little mobs together to protect us poor women and our daughters. It’s beyond irony!

They are apparently using language and terms well known amongst paedophiles and those committing incest which means nothing to ordinary folk but has deep meaning amongst those foul individuals.

These are people who hope to run our country for heavens sake.

Unbelievable.

Let's hear some of the undercover conversations amongst people in the Labour party. They might be just as bad. We don't know, do we?

We don't, but however much we might put Farage/Reform under the spotlight on GN, I'm pretty sure the largely Right-wing press are doing similarly with the Labour party. Because, being Right-wing, it's their job. We hear details of what many would consider to be minor infractions because they are using a fine-tooth comb, so I'm pretty certain if there was even a hint at anything you might consider 'just as bad' - we'd hear about it.

... and the Tories are also under scrutiny, albeit to a lesser extent, but they are not immune from observation either.

So the assumption - which is what you appear to be making - that all parties are probably as bad but just haven't been found out yet, really points to whataboutery rather than any sound argument.

valdali Fri 16-Oct-26 15:16:25

There aren't many people in Reform though. There are a lot of supporters but not many who've actually stood for election, so to have such a lot of wrong uns is a bit like having a barrel of apples some rotten all through, most a bit manky & bruised, with one or two decent ones.
Difficult to sort the issue out by getting rid of the bad apples for Reform!

BlessedArt Fri 16-Oct-26 15:14:23

Chesnut “Whataboutery”, “what if” both are the very worst kind of deflection, and oft used to “excuse”.

I would feel the same if this was Labour, Green, Tory, LibDem, Monster Raving Loony Party, but this particular thread and said investigation is about Reform, not any other party.

Bring me evidence about other parties from credible sources and I’ll condemn them equally.

The biggest issue here for me is the scale of these Reform councillors and the rhetoric that their 7 or 8 MPs repeat day in, day out.

Indeed! False equivalence is an often used tactic for those confronted with indisputable details.

There is no one saying extremism is acceptable on either side, but to pretend that there is equally widespread hatred/bigotry ideologically regardless of party or leanings is just beyond disengenuous.

Nanna8, I have referred before to a local Reform councillor who was convicted of hate speech, as he was found texting his estranged wife telling her that he planned to put her in the boot of his car, and set it on fire.
I would be comfortable describing this man as a misogynist.

I seldom see women haters who aren’t also racists.

BlessedArt Fri 16-Oct-26 15:06:38

It isn’t a question of Reform being taken over. They were racist from the start, that is why they have attracted all the dregs.

Too true
