RAF Fairford

Yes, I thought that.

It doesn't mean that all other planes and personnel have all gone back to the USA, they are here as part of NATO and an agreement between the UK and the USA.
At least for the time being.

They were scheduled to leave in October anyways .

American servicemen had nice little racket in selling diesel spoiled by the cops.

Pleased they have left. May result in fewer, totally unfair military rape and sexual assault cases perpetrated by US service personnel, as revealed by The Guardian.

If this particular association with the US makes us a target for Islamic retribution, which it appears may have been behind the incident at Fairford, IMO we're better off without it.

Anyone else sad at losing this association with the US. This is what radical islam wants. Next attack, the food chain supplying UK.

Not sad.

They will use Fairford as and when they need.

Ilovecheese

Glad they have gone.
Very unpleasant and incorrect opening post.

I disagree, it’s very likely a true assessment.

Such a relief to hear this news.

Glad they have gone.
Very unpleasant and incorrect opening post.

Glad the US bombers have gone, as has been said the US isn’t pulling out of Fairford at all, but the risk of a threat to the people living there has now decreased.
The OP needs to fact check before putting such an inflammatory post out there.

It was the right thing to do as the US and UK know there is an ongoing threat to Fairford if the bombers had remained there.

Thank goodness, it must have been such a worry for the people of Fairford to be a target.

Glad to see the back of them. The less Trump is allowed to put his mad ideas into practise using british soil the better.!

The current POTUS will not be in power forever, we need to keep all doors open for when sanity is restored in the White House.

As Whitewavemark2 says, the US connection to Fairford is still there, and the bombers will be back whenever they need to be.

Good riddance, their presence here made us a target I want no more American influence here, we are already swamped with their language and corporations.
What else? Oh yes, their barbaric law system which allows guns for all and the botched killing of a woman after 30 years imprisonment.
The land of capitalism and the home of junk food.

I'm pleased. They should never have been here in the first place.

It is only the heavy bombers. They were not here before the Iranian war. Everything else remains. The USA would not give up such a foothold easily.

I’m glad to see the back of them, it means that they can’t kill children having taken off from the U.K.

I am not sad and expect the people around Fairford are relieved.
