Of course I have heard it - I just don’t understand why it’s appropriate or relevant hers? I suppose if you ( generic you) thinks making judgements on people’s appearances is acceptable, relevant and useful , then there’s a whole host of sayings that could be applied. Personally, I find if easy to listen to what AB says and will be assessing what he actually does without the slightest concerns re his appearance

I look at things from a practical perspective tho I am a centre leftist as well.
Policies have to be well thought out in the round and there you have the Renters Rights and the recent employers NI coupled with rising wages without being well thought out in the round.
If politicians can’t even be effective at politics what good are they? Which is partly why the hapless KS has been booted out by his own MP’s and Reeves has lost her job, not before time.
It’s not a case of viewing things from the left or the right but of making policies which work out well.

Am not so sure that the Renters Rights Acts helps all renters, it’s been said that making life more problematic for landlords means fewer rentals on an already stretched rentals market.
Some policies which sound good on their own have knock on effects, like the extra NI put onto employers at the same time as increasing the minimum wage has meant fewer jobs going for those who need it.

I guess that's a matter of perspective. I look from the centre left, and see the renters' rights bill as a good thing. It will only be landlords who don't want to be held to account who suffer - those already sticking to good practice won't be affected. For tenants, knowing that they can't be evicted without good reason has to be a good thing, too.

I don't know a lot about the impact of NI, but I think it's a good thing to lower the threshold, as too many people were kept on low hours so employers didn't have to pay. That meant that the staff couldn't get sick or maternity pay, and no pension contributions were made for them. A lot of people would get two or more jobs, both below the NI threshold, so were working full time yet got no benefits or rights.

I suppose if the legislation is looked at from the right of the spectrum it would seem different, but again, those who were doing things decently in the first place would, IMO, have nothing to worry about.

KS made stupid political mistakes in the first six months of his tenure, fortunately I can’t see AB doing that.

They aren’t supporters of Labour, and are looking to rake over the ashes of ministers’ past misdemeanours, which had already been raked over so assiduously that they are cold, in an attempt to rubbish Burnham’s government before it starts work.

I’m glad that AB has taken over but it’s what ‘handsome does’ so will be keenly watching what happens this year.
If Ministers aren’t doing well I hope he will be more ruthless than KS in replacing them.

Well I’ll take a punt hete and suggest you didn’t read what various housing charities said when she resigned and are now glad to have her back. I’ll take another punt and suggest most of us don’t have a real idea of what goes on in ministries and how well or otherwise ministers are performing .

Why does it hurt some posters so much that AR is back in the Cabinet, having paid her stamp duty and not been prosecuted, found guilty or thrown in prison? And that LH has been given a second chance rather than remaining unemployed for the rest of her life? Never mind, onward and upward
