What those people must be going through. Having had a few hot days gives us some understanding. To be without water and a home in the heat. The whole place is destroyed. And now Trump is waiting for Netanyahu to finish it off.

So murdering a 5 year old girl surrounded by the bodies of her dead relatives in a car, whose telephone call saying how frightened she was and pleading for someone to come and get her is how Netanyahu prioritises protecting his country JeniferEccles?

He wont give up until there's no one left alive in Gaza David because that is and has always been his only goal.

It would appear from much evidence that Netanyahu's regime plan to destroy Gaza.
Netanyahu's policy on Gaza began long before that tragic event.

And Hamas gave him the perfect excuse!, until then the Gaza border was relaxed, Hamas couldn't have that, they expected global outrage and hundreds of hostages to stop Israel from destroying Gaza.

They were wrong, Israel wont give up until Hamas has gone whether Netenyahu is there or not, because Hamas vows to destroy Israel.

Netanyahu’s first priority is to protect his country and people from a terrorist regime on his doorstep whose sole aim appears to be the total elimination of all Israelis.

Hamas has refused to disarm until Netanyahu withdraws from Gaza.

If you were him, would you trust them to do that when all this started with the violent slaughter of innocent Israeli youngsters at a music festival ?

I certainly wouldn’t.

October election not far off now and hoping the evil Netanyahu regime will be finished.

foxie48 Wed 19-Aug-26 09:04:31

Netanyahu won't agree to a peace deal because he needs the war to stay in power and avoid getting kicked out at the election in late October. I

Family including children sat at a seafront cafe, enjoying the sun.

All slaughtered by Israel yesterday.

Evil

Fair summary Samwan.

Isreal is rogue terrorist state it has been killing Palistinian civilians called mowing the lawn for decades and now bombing at least six other countries

It is an ethno zioist colonial state. It will never have peace if it will not agree to let the Palestinians have equal rights that's what Palestinians dearly want equality.

Jews are allowed in from many countries but the semic Palestinians are not allowed the right of return return, are refugees in their own land.

Isreal must learn to live at peace with its neighbours not to continue perpetual wars.

Countries including the UK must stop all arms, diplomacy and sanction Isreal.

Isreal's apartheid illegal occupation ethnic cleansing and genocide must stop.

Maremia Mon 17-Aug-26 21:54:08

From recent reports David, it was Israel who scuppered the negotiations.

Maremia Mon 17-Aug-26 21:53:05

So that makes it okay to continue killing Palestinians?
Just because they are not a sovereign nation?
Perhaps I misunderstand your comment David.

Security minister Ben-Gvir has called for nightly targeted eliminations of 30 or 40 people in Gaza.
1200 have been killed since the cease fire.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 17-Aug-26 21:19:39

We will have to disagree there.

Hamas I despair, they refuse to disarm so nothing changes how much more suffering must Gaza suffer. Hamas started this war yet will not admit defeat.

Yes so sad, all Israel has to do is recognise that Gaza exists as a sovereign state, and Hamas will disarm, but it won’t so they won’t.

Gaza isnt a soveriegn and cant exist as an independant sovereign state, it can only exist with support of others, but nobody wants to support Palestinians, certainly not Egypt they don't want anything to do with Gaza.
In any case there won't be peace while Hamas are active.

Netanyahu's also been publicly defying Trump lately; just when Trump could do with looking in control of something in his foreign policy, Netanyahu's treating his requests contempt.

Yes, some sort of sanctions, or at least being UK brave enough to propose in the UN that Israel face sanctions, would at least show that we don't condone the genocide.& although we no longer export arms to Israel, we still host & trade with Israeli arms manufacturers.

Maremia Mon 17-Aug-26 18:59:20

Not sure how happy Trump is with Netanyahu at the moment.
Why?
Remember the food truck sneaky transfer, because of an imminent threat.
Which thankfully never happened.
But now Trump looks like a coward, and his minions feel betrayed, and nasty folk are suggesting that Israel made a fool of him.
We of course won't ever discover the truth behind the threat, but that doesn't matter because with Trump, it's the optics.
And he was made to look ridiculous.

Crumbly159 Mon 17-Aug-26 18:49:29

Netanyahu has a General Election imminent and certainly can't afford to lose: if he does get voted out he can't rely on Trump to throw him a lifeline.

Trump readily throws political allies and advisers to the lions.

Maremia Mon 17-Aug-26 18:38:57

It is no longer a war. It is a genocide.

Elegran, there isn't much our PM can do just now, but something as little as making it harder for money to flow there through trade, could be a start.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 17-Aug-26 17:11:41

Just listening to Jeremy Bowan - oh Gaza - you poor, poor souls.

Elegran Mon 03-Aug-26 18:44:33

It was.mentioned by the surgeon in interview. He said he tried to tell Starmer about the atrocities he saw happening and tried to treat but Starmer didn't want to know.

I for one wouldn't want to see pics and video of atrocities occurring, not even to prove that they are genuine. Either you believe what a respected experienced surgeon tells you is happening or you don't. Seeing the pictures isn't necessary.

What could Starmer do that would make Netanyahu stop this carnage, anyway, once he is this far in with Trump's blessing?

Maremia Mon 03-Aug-26 18:19:21

There is no justification for that MayBee70.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 03-Aug-26 15:32:19

Anyone who commits these sort of crimes is less than human imo.

We have witnessed these sort of crimes being committed in the last century and the world condemned them.
