It’s all getting rather silly. The current govt isn’t perfect but it isn’t preventing free speech. Certainly not on this forum

BJ was a total disaster during COVID. He and his staff regularly flouted the regulations his own government made, parties at No 10, unnecessary journeys by his closes aide 'to test his eyesight'.

A number of official reports have said the start of COVID regulations was bungled and led to unnecessary deaths.

_But most of all_:

Remember all those elderly ill people with COVID, dispatched back to care homes before the virus had cleared? They therefore took back to care homes the infection the home was trying to avoid. This led to the unnecessary deaths of thousands and thousand of people, not just care home residents but care workers and in their families

Remember all those old care home residents with dementia confuses and unhappy, unable to understand why they could not see their nearest and dearest. Many of those people and others died alone and frightened because family members could not be with them, to then be buried without, even all their nearest and dearest present. truly something that Boris could be proud of

Great intellectual? Bunkum. A first class honours degree does not necessarily always mean you are intelligent, merely that you are clever and good at passing exams. I have known a number of people with First class degrees. Brilliant scientists and engineers, but I wouldn't trust them to go to the take-away and bring back the food on the written order.

I do agree that he is a believer in personal freedom - but only for himself and his cronies.

I would not say I was the most observant of people but even I have noticed this Government is trying to shut down freedom of speech. Any deviation from the party line is not tolerated.

So different from the Boris Government.

I think you are very ungrateful to this government. The only 'freedom of speech' they really seem to have tried to shut down is that of protesting against the continual use of the oil that is a huge contributor to dangerous climate change and protest against the genocide in Gaza. Both highly disapproved of by many Gnetters.

What they've been less successful with is shutting down hate speech and incitement to violence.
