Henry Nowak…….an absolute tragedy.

yes you did and the only person who showed a slight bit of concern was the female officer who said (after a while) that his pupils were not reacting or something to that effect.

I’ve just watched the police cam video on the Telegraph news page. I want to cry.

Terrible terrible! The poor lad was asking for them to call an ambulance which was ignored. What happened to humanity? The Sikh religion does not encourage or endorse this kind of behaviour either so this guy playing the race card was a bad’un. I have known a Sikh family for over 40 years and you could not meet nicer, more respectful, harder working people. Theirs is generally a peaceful religion.

It is utterly disgusting. I feel so sorry for that family. If the Sikhs want to live in our country they should leave their daggers in India, where they belong. Failing which, go back there to embrace their ways which are not wanted in the UK and are not compatible with our country. Bending over backwards to all these immigrants is what has led us to this sorry state. It’s utterly shaming.

I have lived in Southampton area, in defence of the Sikh community they are very peaceful and integrate well.

This young man and his families behaviour will not have gone down well with the Sikh community.

The killer was clearly a knife obsessed madman and could have been of any colour or creed.

He was not an immigrant but British born and bred.

What we have to look is inverse racism and the effect it had on this young man’s death.

I can't watch the video of Henry's last moments, and I'm not usually at all squeamish about these things.

It is described exactly as i had picked up from floating around online - ironically from some of the undesirable groups.

That poor, poor young man.
I keep thinking of him smoothing his hair down in the mirror, checking he looks ok...

And another thing, our young are being urged not to carry knives, not that they take notice of that, but these Sikhs are allowed to. All in the name of religion. Two tier rules yet again.

Totally disgraceful. If a young man lies bleeding and saying he can’t breathe regardless of what the police have been told emergency services must be called asap and there is no excuse for handcuffs. Also am hearing that the murderer was not handcuffed at any time, even when it became clear that he had stabbed Henry. I hope Henry’s family take the police force to the cleaners and set a much needed precedent that when called to a crime scene police must not make knee jerk decisions based upon race but take enough time to actually assess the situation intelligently and certainly call for an ambulance immediately regardless of any crime when a young person is bleeding and saying they can’t breathe.
Am so angry and upset for the family.
I also believe the brother and mother should be prosecuted for seeking to pervert the course of justice.

His father, clearly devastated after yesterday's hearing, came across to me as someone who is determined to get answers and make some changes. I can't see him being fobbed off by the 'lessons will be learned' brigade. Henry's Dad means business and good luck to him.

Fallingstar a person with experience of Police training was on TV last night. He said that they are taught to take any accusations of racial attacks with priority.

It does look like they saw this as most important on that night so ignored Henry’s situation but listened to the killer’s brother who lied that they had been attacked. He even pointed to his eye where there was nothing visible but said he had been hit!

Fallingstar, you are right, medical treatment should have been the priority. Henry was stabbed five times including in the face and chest. There would have been blood pouring out and that should have been obvious to anyone next to him. Treat first, place under arrest in hospital (that's what usually happens).

L Hoyle, the Speaker had to intervene yesterday because of the silence from Starmer and say that this would be discussed in Parliament this afternoon. apparently this is highly unusual.

What is it about Starmer that he always fails to do the right thing? He shouldn’t need to be told! Look how fast he responded to the murder of the convicted criminal George Floyd which happened in the US!!! Nothing to do with us but he jumped right in there, taking the knee and releasing statements.

Henry was a decent, white British young man just starting out on his University career. Just 12 weeks into his course with his whole life ahead of him. Shocking beyond belief.

I couldn't watch the video footage, knowing what we know now about what had actually happened. I wonder why that needed to be shown.
The police officer dealing with the case clearly thought Henry was the offender but when does sheer common sense and humanity come into this? Henry is bleeding and saying he cannot breathe yet no emergency care or an ambulance is called at this stage. Something is very wrong with police training.

I read that the murderer was allowed home to select food to bring to the police station.

Does anyone know what job the murderer had?

I saw the video this morning and was upset. No comfort for that poor young man as he lay dying. The police were more interested in what may have been a racist slur than a stabbing. He told them several times that he couldn't breathe.
I'm glad the vicious thug has been jailed for 21 years but it isn't enough for the distressing way that Henry died.

The body-cam footage of Henry's last moments including the appalling way the police dealt with the poor lad was extremely upsetting. The perpetrator, or rather the murderer, who lied and used the racist card, was treated with kid gloves by the police.

The video footage is a hard watch, the poor family knowing his final minutes of life were so traumatic.

Utterly heartbreaking to know the last thing your child heard was a police officer arresting him, and when telling the officer I’ve been stabbed the officer replies don’t think so mate 😡😡😡

Have just watched the footage of Henry Nowak's last moments. Truly appalling.
The perpetrator and his family stood by and watched him die knowing he had been stabbed, and did nothing.
This makes a mockery of permission for the carrying of bladed weapons for religious reasons.
The grief of his father: "it is my job to protect my children and I failed to keep him safe. I was not there when he needed me most."

The footage is awful. That poor lad. His last moments alive were filled with pain along with the terror that the police were treating him like some vile criminal .

The family of the convicted man were shouting at Henry’s family as they all left the courtroom, including accusations of racism 🙄.

If this is true then that family are truly disgusting and not surprising they have raised a murderer. In marked contrast to Henry’s dignified, decent family.
