'Billy Allison, the original founder of Raise the Colours, has been charged with murder and grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was badly beaten in a bar in Lichfield on Sunday. The victim died in hospital yesterday from his injuries'. I'm going to feel even more sickened when I drive through the next town to my son's tomorrow and see all the scruffy bedraggled flags flying everywhere. Maybe they should all be taken down as a mark of respect for the murdered man.
If the march was 'peaceful' who was making the racist comments? Was it 'peaceful' because tbe turnout was substantially lower than expected, and there were enough police in attendance for that number?

There were significantly more than was expected. Did you watch the march? If by racist you mean the 3 French girls, they were supporting the women in Iran- the ones who are being murdered for daring to protest an Islamic regime.

The man that died was a much loved and generous member of the public and will be greatly missed, he was just enjoying a bank holiday. I hope justice is done but whatever, the lives of his family will never be as it was, they have a life sentence.
There were six stabbings and numerous arrests, including for sexual assault and attacks on the police, at Sunday's Arsenal victory parade, and local streets were trashed As someone who lives in London I consider this quite good going on the whole. The statistics for this year's Notting Hill carnival are sure to be less heartening.
