“We are killing like we haven’t killed since 1967”

Said by the IDF Maj. Gen. A I Bluth.

The Palestinians are killed for stone throwing - which apparently according to the IDF - is terrorism.

Restraints have also been loosened on the IDF, who are now permitted to maim without repercussion. Most of the maiming carried out are gun shots to the knees. The Palestinans were maimed at the barrier as they sought work.

The IDF call those maimed “limping monuments” .

Bluth has stated that the IDF is working hand in hand with the illegal settlers to drive the Palestinians off their land. This is carried out by burning people alive in their houses, amongst other means.

Hezbollah/IDF, just different sides of the same corrupt coin.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-May-26 20:53:21

Supposedly Hezbollah in every nook and cranny, which of course means they can’t “help” but unfortunately kill thousands of innocent children and adults, bomb schools and hospitals and generally do as much evil as they possibly can.

Aveline Thu 07-May-26 17:25:47

The sheer stupidity and cruelty of it is incomprehensible.

Apparently Lebanon is being modelled on Gaza and Israel is beginning to destroy the towns and villages. Those poor poor people.

Why are they doing it? Are Hamas hiding in somebody's house in a village?

They are insane.

Maremia Thu 07-May-26 15:01:31

Lebanese Christian churches, parish halls and schools are trying to help by 'opening their doors', but they are overwhelmed.

I know my neighbour is scared. They are paying for armed guards at their synagogue.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-May-26 10:56:45

Yes my Jewish friends are the same. They are appalled at Netanyahu and the extremist government.

But really as British people I see no reason why they should feel it any deeper than the rest of us.

Anyone who is able to post on these Threads is also able to email their MP about concerns. If you pose it as a question you are more likely to get a reply.

Like your friend Luckygirl my closest Jewish friend (friends since 1980) is in despair over this. She lived in Israel for many years and still has friends there.
I love her a lot.
Fair minded Jewish people are also suffering (yes, differently of course) from Netanyah.

My friend always talks about this when we meet (or speak on the phone). I think it helps her to voice her outrage, anger and pain. She is a "campaigner" and is exhausted. If I can just listen to her I feel I am supporting her.

What are the sources of this information? How do you know it’s true?

Reported also in Haaretz

In a closed discussion published by Haaretz journalist Josh Breiner (Haaretz, May 4), Bluth eloquently described his mission: to create a perpetual war in the West Bank, but also to prevent its escalation. How to do that? You create constant friction, "engage" the Palestinians and "turn the villages into conflict zones." That's how you ignite a conflict. In response, Israel is "killing like we haven't killed since 1967." But the killing is presumably legitimate, because it's only against those involved in terror (96 percent of the killed), surgical shooting or "precise aggression" as Bluth puts it.

It isn't hard to find those involved, because after all, every Palestinian is a "potential terrorist," he says. Those who aren't involved are killed less often, but deterrence is created against them. How? The economic distress, which is reflected in unemployment, functions as a mechanism that leads to a situation in which trespassers who are desperately seeking work in Israel are willing to risk being shot in the knee in order to enter.

Luckygirl, today is our day.
We vote with care.

There is no election in my area.

My very good friend and neighbour is Jewish - all of this is a topic I avoid, even when the subject comes up. She is already in a state of high anxiety and distress over it all. What a mess ...

I would also recommend signing up for Haaretz.com to get readership of all the articles because there is a lot of detailed reporting of individual incidents.

You need ideally, for example, full access to this article which details examples (including a young mentally disturbed Jewish lad accidentally being shot for throwing stones at a tank and the IDF didnt realise it until he shouted for help in Hebrew)
...actual individual citing of firebombing Palestinians out of one home, then re settled by Jewish settlers, etc etc

Thanks Wyllow, sadly there will be some here, in the words of Trump, who will dismiss this as “fake news”.

You can lead a horse to water …

Jews are not the same as Israeli extremists and Muslims are not the same as Hamas, Isis or Hezbollah. Why people find it difficult to make this distinction is IMO usually down to their inherent racism. The current Israeli regime is sanctioning genocide and many Jews would agree with this statement.

That’s complete sense! It’s how many of us feel, sadly (yet somehow understandably), sometimes those on either side are so entrenched in hatred for the vile things the “other side” have rained upon them, they forget that there are good, decent, innocent citizens on both sides, simply caught up in a situation not of their making.

I see you are still waiting for a reply to your question.

Very well, since you cant be bothered to follow up the references to the Times Of Israel yourself, here we go

www.timesofisrael.com/top-idf-officer-admits-unequal-enforcement-against-israeli-palestinian-stone-throwers/

Bluths word/actions include

"Soldiers are now permitted to carry out a suspect arrest procedure that includes shooting up to a Palestinian’s knees for the purpose of deterrence in the so-called “seam zone,” Bluth reportedly said.

He quipped that many Palestinians are now seen limping as a result of his policy, adding that another 42 Palestinians who were allegedly trying to hurl stones at cars in the West Bank were shot dead by Israeli troops in 2025 alone.

While he characterized stone throwing by Palestinians as terror, he argued against soldiers opening fire when the perpetrators are Jews."

That enough for you?

I think anyone with an ounce of empathy feels as you do, and like you feel utterly helpless.

But we must never let these atrocities pass without recognition.

We owe it to those suffering so much with so little help.

I just feel impotent in the face of all this. At the moment I am struggling to walk down my garden, to get my breath, to drag myself from day to day.
There is nothing we can do.
The advances in telecommunications mean that we know stuff of which we would once have been in blissful ignorance. Maybe the human mind can only encompass so much
I feel desperate for all these people and what is happening to them ... simply desperate.
But there is nothing anyone can do.
Too many causes that one might wish to espouse, too little power.
I am sorry if that sounds defeatist.

Maremia Thu 07-May-26 07:09:45

I think this could be on record, going by the number of Jews who openly march in some of the pro Palestine rallies.
