Just getting worse and worse. Anyone who doesn’t agree with him- out they go. Frightening really.

Trump fired the Secretary of the Navy today. And no one knows why yet.

So that is 4 cabinet members down now.

Wyllow3 Wed 22-Apr-26 23:44:55

And China will benefit.

Top work, Trump - stand off at the Straits

And for what?

Wyllow3 Wed 22-Apr-26 23:43:33

On the news it was clear that oil prices are beginning to affect prices in the US.

The GOP already found a judge to overturn the election in Virginia. This will end up at the SC at some point soon, I suppose.

I don't think that undoing the will of the voters is going to give them the reception they think they will get, especially since the Northern Virginia population was especially hard hit with Government lay offs.

The U.K. could be going through all this in a few years time if Farage gets in. Let joy be unconfined!

imaround Wed 22-Apr-26 20:06:39

Another reason why we should could see the GOP start to do something about Trump.

10% approval rate.

The only way to fix these numbers is to do something about Trump, and with those numbers, they will be unemployed in November if they dont. All of them. Both sides.

imaround Wed 22-Apr-26 15:19:40

Thought this was interesting. It is always interesting to see the propaganda at work.

Macaydia Wed 22-Apr-26 05:44:00

If the man is a liar then I hope he was lying when he said Vote for me and you will never have to vote again

imaround Wed 22-Apr-26 02:48:35

Ohhh ... They are big mad. grin

imaround Wed 22-Apr-26 02:22:19

There you go. The state will redistrict for the November election, and all future elections until the 2030 census presumably.

This was approved by voters. The GOP can't sue to stop it because the Supreme Court has already ruled constitutional, when California did it.

This is how you fight fire with fire unfortunately, and what it is going to take to impeach him.

imaround Wed 22-Apr-26 01:13:45

A great example of how gerrymandering can change the politics in a state. This is what the people of Virginia are voting on. If this passes today, Trump is out in November.

As a reminder, this is happening, along with California's redistricting, because Texas decided to redistrict there mid-decade. It has started a domino effect of redistricting.

Just for info each states House seats are determined by population through the census at the start of each decade. The redistricting is typically done in the year or so after the census. Texas decided to redistrict in 2025 because they gained seats in the House, but those seats would have leaned left.

It has already started to backfire on them, but come November we will see Texas flip to Dem despite their best efforts.

Go imaround go.

Thank you for telling it like it is!

nothing wrong with pride in country, nanna or Artols

No one has to have pride in its current regime.

Just a couple of hours ago Trump has done a climb down in the middle of a war that was never needed. Pathetic and scary man. Oh, just a few thousand murdered in Iran, the regime completely and utterly unchanged, oil blocked, unspeakable things happening in the Lebanon, Gaza remains in tatters.

One moment Trump says he will bomb Iran to bits then suddenly oh we will extend the cease fire

Who can be proud about that?

imaround Tue 21-Apr-26 21:57:13

If anyone is interested, the Supreme Court shadow documents are being leaked into the public. It isn't a good look for the corrupt judges. Oh, and a wife who has made $10 million in "fees" with a company of hers.

It is all going to fall apart soon IMO. Though they have been working on this for 40+ years, they won't give up now.

imaround Tue 21-Apr-26 20:37:03

I just had a thought. We don't want the 25th. Because that resets the clock for Vance with MAGA. If they get sick of him, then we get Mike Johnson.

No thanks. Let's let him keep up his craziness and we will flip Congress and get rid of the both. Hopefully.

Good news about the SAVE Act. Hope it can't sneak back in.

Maremia Tue 21-Apr-26 18:21:49

Have no intention of giving up on the decent folk in the US of A.

There is a rumor going around that Trump's toddler meltdown in the Situation Room during the pilot rescue was because his staff wouldn't let him have access to the nuclear codes.

He was removed from the Situation Room that night for his tantrum, which is bad enough, but I can't say if it is true that it has to do with nuclear codes. It wouldn't surprise me. How sad it is that everything about him is so ridiculous that anything is believable.

SAVE Act did fail the Senate. They didn't get enough to reach the filibuster, which is 60 votes.

Virginia is voting on redistricting today. If it passes, it will move the Virginia seats to the left. Trump has said that of it passes, the GOP is on trouble in November.

In the House, Johnson had to swear in the newly elected Democrat, narrowing his lead in the House to just 1 vote. grin

Don't give up on us yet. The momentum is spreading in voters and the GOP is nervous.

I actually would be surprised if the GOP/Vance doesn't 25th him before November. That is the only way they could expect to possibly keep their jobs. And I guarantee that any politician will throw whoever they need to under the bus to keep themselves employed.

I have lots to do today, I will be back tonight with the VA election results. Have a great day!

California, Gavin Newsom's state.

Arto1s

I live in California having come over from the UK in 1991. It has always been a great country to live in and still is. Presidents come and go, but the country always seems to withstand whatever is thrown at it. In general it is a hopeful and patriotic country. I miss England of course, and visit when I can, but America is my home now, and I embrace it.

How refreshing to read a positive take on living in the USA. You are right of course Presidents come and go and of course you are also right to embrace what is now your home country.smile

imaround Tue 21-Apr-26 16:04:37

*aren't so far away

imaround Tue 21-Apr-26 16:04:11

I am seeing that too Maremia. I haven't look to see the vote numbers yet.

As I said previously, both parties are looking to clean up since elections are so far away. Everyone (both sides) is mad about the war and economy. People are starting to notice that he is doing illegal things. He is turning on the talking heads that helped get him elected. smile

We have another country wide protest on May Day. It will be interesting to see the numbers protesting.

Rumours on Facebook that the SAVE Act failed in the Senate.

Gfplux Tue 21-Apr-26 07:17:12

Trump has managed to make the USA unrecognizable to its friends in 12 months of reckless and dangerous behaviour. America is no longer the friend and ally of Europe we must pivot/uncouple away from the USA, like a slow divorce as quickly as humanly possible. it will take time but there is no going back.

Allsorts Tue 21-Apr-26 06:14:09

Good to be proud of your country but blindly following a deranged President, not so. in some ways we should be more like them and put our country and people first but that won’t happen,
