When is a royal tour, not a royal tour?

Silly me! It's when you visit a children's hospital and wave at the crowds. As well as visiting a homeless refuge and a War Memorial. Not forgetting attending an Invictus event and the last post ceremony on Anzac Day.
Plus the inevitable money making events which are now allowed.
Harry and Meghan's visit to Australia, (in very high shoes and expensive outfits).
Forgive my confusion. Am I missing the point? 😆

Granatlast007 If your post is meant to sprinkle a little kindness amongst the harshness then I'd hate to read when you're being unkind! And it always pays to be accurate in your accusations. As Calendargirl has already pointed out Andrew is not the youngest boy.

There was a petition against their visit because taxpayers are footing the bill for security. Not many here like them. Especially her.

Yes, I read that. They can't seem to accept that neither of them are no longer very important. I can't see why they need beefed up security.

Some believe everything they read in the newspapers

Just to sprinkle a little kindness amongst the harshness and to remind people that GN has its own estrangement thread and here we have sight of the outcome of a really troubled family.

The matriarch tells her oldest son who to marry, no argument. His sister also had her relationships and marriage interfered with by her mother. So the lad packed off to a harsh boarding school does as he's told, marries a woman he doesn't love but who his mother thinks will be a tame, well behaved breeder, son quickly resumes affair with long term mistress who he wasn't allowed to marry.

And not to be forgotten is the gin-ridden grandmother and horribly spoilt youngest boy who turned into a monstrous perverted abuser hanging about with unpleasant, too rich types who describe trafficked children as whores.

The breeder did her job and two boys lived with their acrimonious parents and dad's bit on the side until mum died in an accident and the boys were expected to parade behind their mother's coffin in full sight of millions and never shed a tear.

Is it any wonder that Harry was/is so messed up? I happened to see the other day that there's a bit of friction between William and Camilla and that Charles will never speak to his ostracised younger brother again. What a shambles, maybe this should be discussed on the estrangement thread, no wonder over 50% of young people now think we no longer need a Royal family. I feel sorry for Harry, there's no real love in the Windsor family and not much out in the world either.

I could not have put it better.

Absolutely desperate for attention these two, despite pleading for privacy.
Many Australians are saying that they are using Oz like an ATM machine by incorporating money making exercises alongside charity events. I wonder if they will pay for their police protection or expect the Australian tax payer to fund it.
Now cold shouldered by Netflix and Co and with her jams not taking over the world she must be wondering what next.

Oh, so it's fine for you to happen to see apparent flaws in Windsor family relationships Granatlast007. We just happen to see a quasi royal tour, no more no less!

If by the ‘horribly spoilt youngest boy’ you mean Andrew, you’ve got the wrong son.

Edward is the youngest, and not guilty of the above.

😂 Oh dear!

Just to clear up another point, the Last Post Ceremony apparently happens daily in Canberra. I'm not sure why The Guardian, no less, referred to it as Anzac Day in the list of engagements I took from there? Apologies, my knowledge of Australia is a bit lacking.

Judging by the coverage on the 6 o clock news, Meghan still has to have Harry virtually handcuffed to her as they wander round.

In case he makes a run for it.

Haha 😄
I have noticed that he can’t move without a bony little hand clutching him.

Harry and Meggie's traditional Family Motto: "Under the Thumb Forever".

Harry has gradually morphed into a Stan Laurel character. But I suspect he would have anyway, no matter who he married.

Ciao.

If it was just a quiet visit and they weren't doing walkabout, few people would have known!

They went on a visit. Lots of people decided to turn out and see them (their choice). Media decided to takes pics. End of ...

Not quite…There are still some tickets available for a girls’ weekend with Meghan at £1,400 a pop.
Don’t all rush at once!

Allira Tue 14-Apr-26 23:07:24

11 days, not 12.

It’s ridiculous tho isn’t it? They left the UK and decided they needed a peaceful existence out of the limelight and out of the RF.
So what to they do? Write controversial books, give interviews where they trash their families and go ‘on tour’ where they act as if they’re still in the RF.
It looks as if they need attention and will get it whatever way they can.

👏👏👏

the last post ceremony on Anzac Day.

How long are they staying? Anzac Day is 25th April, that is in 12 days' time! The ceremonies are usually at dawn on that day.

Did not didn’t

Last time in Australia Megan couldn’t understand why the royals didn’t it for free and weren’t paid. This time she’s in it for the money. So much for privacy.

In answer to the question in the title…..

When it’s carried out by H&M, who are no longer working royals, only when it suits.

Well, they probably have to drum up more sources of funds - Netflix don't seem to regard Harry and Meggie as the golden goose they once did.

They thought H & M were 5 star Royals. But they've turned out to be just tin-pot celebs.

RosiesMawagain Tue 14-Apr-26 20:38:38

When they’re not working royals.
Amazing H and M can’t grasp that simple fact

What a massive hypocrite Harry is.He makes a huge fuss about security and has talked about how triggering he finds the flash of cameras- but only when it suits him.Yet they are happy to leave his children the other side of the world and be surrounded by crowds and the press.

Just what I was thinking.

Smileless2012 Tue 14-Apr-26 19:51:10

I wish the media wouldn't report it too fancythat so I turned over when it was on.
