There is hope and oil prices plunge it seems Trumps invasion attack plans are on hold if Iran opens Hormuz, we can hope.
This will put pressure on Iran and they won't get any tolls.
The US will stop any ships entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz disrupting all ships in the region.

So Trump is going to block the Straits.
How is that going to work then?
I don’t know but it will be fun finding out😄
Of course these talks were never going to work….there will have to be more either before or after some more bombing of Iran.
The Iranian regime will have to be realistic in what they ask for.
So Trump is going to block the Straits.

A friend of Trump's said the president regretted getting into this war and why a country of nine million led a country of 350 million into a war.
Israel is known for uncovering sexual indiscretions ( as are some others) so does Netanyahu have a hold on Trump as he knows something regarding Epstein.
Whatever his reason I don't believe change of regime, freeing the people or nuclear weapons were why he engaged in the attack.

Mankind makes a mess of our world and our humanity and doesn't need religion to do so.
But religion is the weapon the justification, the excuse ....

AI Overview
Around 12 to 15 Muslim-majority countries apply Sharia law, though its application varies from limited family law to a comprehensive national legal system. Strict or comprehensive Sharia is typically applied in nations like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, Sudan, Yemen, and Brunei, while many others, such as Egypt, Pakistan, and Malaysia, use it selectively or primarily for personal status matters.

There are 195 countries in the world.
12 -15 of them observing Sharia Law doesn't ring panic bells in my head.

Bloody religion - what a mess it makes of our world and of our humanity.
Did the enlightenment really happen?
No, it's not religion.
It's men using religion as an excuse, a cover for their evil acts.

MaizieD "The big question is 'What happens now?'"
1) A ceasefire extension beyond 2 weeks?
2) Netanyahu continuing to bomb Lebanon?
3) Vance, Trump et al reflecting and adjusting their negotiation/diplomatic style and ceasefire demands?
4) Iran Leaders reflecting and adjusting their negotiation/diplomatic style and ceasefire demands?
5) Hormuz Straight continuing with passage restrictions?
6) Trump making more genocidal threats to Iran?
7) Trump carrying such threats out?
8) continuing and growing adverse impact on global markets
etc
We can bank on continuing short term uncertainty....
The big question is 'What happens now?'
Vance is such a prune. He described the peace talks as a marathon - they lasted a day😀😀😀.
Oh forgot to add.... what's Vance, Rubio and Trump doing supporting Orban? Orban is close to Putin, Orban blocked the EU releasing frozen assets being used to help Ukraine. Orban is very unpopular in his own country and he's likely to removed by a legal democratic process, so what's the American government doing interfering in another countries election?
The relationship between Trump and Netanyahu is interesting. Trump and his acolytes increasingly talk about the war in terms of a religious war from a Christian perspective. Netanyahu is kept in power by ultra extremist Jews who quite frankly have little respect for Christian rights, hence the disgraceful behaviour towards Christians over the Easter period and their disgusting treatment on the West Bank. The bombing of Lebanon is killing and displacing many Christians as well as completely innocent Lebanese who don't support Hezbollah and Trump et al can just look the other way! There isn't a shred of morality in this war despite the Iranian regime (which I whole heartedly condemn!) being portrayed as the aggressor. This war is an utter disgrace to humanity yet there are some who will still find reasons to support it.
I just wonder how much money Trump and others have made out of erratic market movements, how much Trump's son's have made out of their investments in Powerus and how much slush money is finding it's way into Trump's crypto wallet.
Same here, Maizie.

ISIS, Muslim Brotherhood, Boka Haram, Al Shabab and all the others who want Sharia law enforced across the world.
That I think is what it is really all about.
As they aren't going to manage to 'enforce Sharia Law across the world' any more than attempts by 'western' countries to enforce Christianity succeeded in the days of Empire, I can't spend too much time worrying about that.
What does worry me is the entrenchment of hatred of 'the other' by both 'sides' in the pursuit of power and territory. All that this warfare is doing is creating a new generation of haters.

I also think there has to be a new amendment in the constitution for dealing with sociopathic dictators who become president.
They could try this way.

Back to the war that never ceased, Trump was “fooled” by BN to open more fully the Pandora’s box between Iran and Israel.
Trump is a fool and he’s leading us all a merry dance and down paths which most of us don’t wish to follow.
Commentary - that USA entered the talks in “bad faith”
I must admit thinking Vance was setting it up to fail by his rhetoric before he went to the talks.
Iran have said the talks failed due to excessive demands and unlawful requests from the US.
So what happens now? More talks? Back to war?
I think it was inevitable that the peace talks would break down, that's why Vance was sent, so Trump could blame him for the failure. Trump doesn't want to continue the war but perhaps he's looking for a reason that will sway more Americans to support it? That seems likely to me and if persuading them that they will get hit by a nuclear bomb unless the war continues, moves the polls in his favour, will he move troops into Iran?
Listening to the news this morning, apparently Iran, despite it's extreme government actually has a lower percentage of observant Muslims than it's neighbours and Lebanon has 30-40+% Christian population. There was also a piece on the religious programme about how Christians in Israel are being treated, ie spat at, stones thrown at them and being illegally forced to move from the West bank by Jewish settlers. I'm afraid that religious extremism is not confined to one side in this war. This Netanyahu government seems equally happy to kill Christians as well as Iranians who do not support the regime or any of it's proxy terrorist groups.

To absolutely no one’s surprise whatsoever.
The peace talks have failed.
Did I miss the bit about Iran refusing to relax its laws involving women?
I read the bit about Iran refusing to compromise its nuclear capabilities. I'm sure there was something about the US and Israel being prepared to make some compromise about their own nuclear weapons, but I missed that too.
