I felt like crying just to read it. Somebody removed him please

As queried in today's Guardian, if Trump goes ahead with destroying Iran will it be him or his generals who will be charged with war crimes?

No prizes for guessing who's going to throw who under the bus.

All I can say now is that thank goodness Starmer and other European leaders have taken the stance they have. It at least gives us a sporting chance. But does not stop the slaughter of innocent people; nor the pointless and vindictive destruction of a nation's infrastructure.

I think the US is heading for another 9/11.

Don’t be surprised if at a point later today he announces that it has come to his attention that his people 😉 are against his latest idea 🤷‍♀️ so he is, with regret withdrawing this threat.
What a hero 🤬

In this piece the point is made that Trump is as bloodthirsty as a mad dog and that Hegseth is by no means egging him on. Seems we could all be labouring under a misapprehension , perhaps Trump gives the impression that he is demented and is now floundering and wants out of the war, but it could just as easily be that he is a cruel, calculating sociopath who is more than able to think through the murder of thousands of innocents.
I am swaying towards the latter.

When people resort to swearing it shows they are on the back foot and they know it.

Surely things are getting very near the point where, somehow, he will have to be stopped? There must be some sort of mechanism for doing so?

He’s talking about being guided solely by his own morality - heaven help us all.

What morality? I would say he was a morality free zone.

I hope Trump pulls back from this devastating, illegal act. He seems to be taking lessons from Netanyahu who has destroyed Gaza and killed thousands of people.
Trump has said he goes by his own morality. His morality is questionable to say the least. That's if he has any.

Wandering around the internet, I was amazed at how much support and even admiration Trump seems to still have. Not just in the USA. It is very worrying.

This is how the Hitler's of this world get to rule.
They try to make the complex simple and people fall for it.

Unless we pray, we have to put up with him.

So we pray and the orange idiot goes away.
Why did nobody think of this before 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think that Congress and Senate must be involved in such a serious matter.

There-in lies the rub, although there may be a better chance after November - but the world might have gone up in flames by then.

Everything crossed for tonight that someone somewhere sees sense.

My question is

If you were serving in the USA military would you be prepared to carry out an illegal act, and run the risk of being accused of war crimes in the future?

Unfortunately JD Vance is busy just now. Going to Hungary to personally support Orban in his re-election campaign.

Yes, the 25th - but who's going to invoke the relevant section (whichever it is)?

Today an article in "Time" which details calls to use the 25th amendment to remove Trump from office.

Its well worth a read: its goes into the "how to" and comments from both Democrats and Republicans: and summarises aspects of the war to date.

I’m scared of what the next few days is going to bring. It’s like some horrible nightmare.

He is having the biggest tantrum because he's running out of bullying tactics get his own way.
Iran is standing up to him which he never expected. European countries are all refusing to get by his side. He's become Donny Nomates. He doesn't understand why. He has always got his own way. And that very nasty Hegseth keeps whispering in his ear to play very dirty war games. The tantrums will be off the scale soon. Waiting for the total and complete meltdown very soon

How the mighty USA has fallen indeed M0nica

Luckygirl3 Mon 06-Apr-26 22:37:08

I think Trump is praying to the same god to stay put ... what a conundrum!

InRainbows Mon 06-Apr-26 22:16:39

Trump is so eye opening when it comes to humanity. We moved in small circles that are comfortable for us and seeing such a public display of support for a man like him is painful.

What prescience! 😂

H.L. Mencken was a highly influential early 20th-century American journalist. In 1920 he wrote

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

It took 100 years to get there, but he was right. How the mighty USA has fallen.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 06-Apr-26 19:05:08

What sort of fire power could achieve that in such a huge country?
