BBC explaining that Trump may take the island , but then the troops will be sitting targets, and will have supply line problems.
Apparently similar 'traps' occurred in the Vietnam war, but you'd have to be a military history student to know this.

Trump was never that student.

I agree.
And that is the problem with "learning from history" for me.
In reality, there is not that many people who start wars.
And they either dont listen to others, or choose to do it all anyway.
