3years 10 months prison sentence

I know nothing can bring back the little girl killed by a speeding,drugged up phone using driver BUT a sentence of 3years and 10 months!

I would have thought a minimum of 10 years is a starting point he could be out in less than 2 years. This is a very poor justice system.

This is because he was convicted of causing death by careless driving rather than dangerous driving. The judge has asked why this was the case as he could have had a longer sentence for dangerous driving. Maybe there wasn't enough evidence to meet the threshold for a dangerous driving conviction.

How can careless driving when it results in the death of someone not be considered dangerous driving?
Surely if someone is killed the person who did it, whether by driving whilst on drugs or using any other weapon, is considered dangerous, not just careless.

If even the judge questions the validity of the charge I really think it should be investigated.

So being drugged up to the eyeballs, using his phone and speeding isn't enough for a dangerous driving conviction!!
