I'm obliged to the OP for mentioning Rupert Lowe, who I'd seen on a show like Newsnight (?), but had dismissed as a right-wing 'nutjob'. And I'm reminded that he fell out with Farrago, two massive egos circling in the same orbit, bound to be trouble?
I've now had to research Mr Lowe, I wonder if he or any of his would-be voters have been questioned about their stated ambition to send all the tinted people in the UK back to where they or their ancestors came from? He apparently has ample funds, but 'normal' people might not welcome the immediate collapse of the NHS, which would be a direct result of that (barmy) policy?
I further read up about Mr Lowe's achievements, it seems he was a Chairman of Southampton FC, but left after protests from fans and shareholders. In 2009, soon after his departure, his 'Southampton Leisure Holdings' (his vehicle for owning the club) was placed into administration. I'm not overly familiar with football tactics and strategy, but it would appear that Lowe's grand scheme to apoint a Rugby expert as a 'Director of Football' didn't end too well?
It seems he bought a football team called Garforth (Yorks) in 2012, aiming to take it to the Premier League, but he dropped them a couple of years later, as the task resembled making Donald Trump look like a sane, well-read scholar.
He'd been a Brexit MEP, but got into 'Reform' once the Brexit party had no further purpose. Does anyone ever ask the likes of Lowe and Farrago how their main ambition has served the country??
This piece is also in his Wiki profile (soooo funny! -- oh, and he's MP for Great Yarmouth) >>>> On 8 August 2025, Lowe posted a picture on X (formerly Twitter) of a small boat off the Norfolk coast, stating: "Dinghies coming into Great Yarmouth, RIGHT NOW. Authorities alerted, and I am urgently chasing. If these are illegal migrants, I will be using every tool at my disposal to ensure these individuals are deported.". Great Yarmouth is 100+ miles north of Dover, where migrants in small boats usually land, and the same distance from the coast of the Netherlands.
It transpired that the boat was a party of volunteers rowing from Land's End to John O'Groats, to raise money for a motor neurone disease charity. THAT is the sort of opinionated cretin that 'Restore' folk think is some sort of 'Messiah'. Messiah? Only like the one in Life of Brian . . .
I entirely agree.
It’s all very well donating his MP monthly income to various local charities in his constituency, but all this shows is that’s his so rich he doesn’t miss his £90,000 MP salary. This doesn’t make him a “good” MP nor a “great” man, it makes him a very very wealthy man playing his own little game.
People get so sucked in and extremely carried away, Lowe will go the same way as Farage ultimately, when they are both bored with playing at politics.
Frankly it’s sad, pathetic and insulting to other MPs and their own constituencies, money simply isn’t the answer to everything and one can quietly donate to charity without becoming an MP, neither he nor Farage have given one sensible thought to the people in their constituencies, some of whom may be the very people they are bragging about deporting, once elected your role is to protect and serve EVERY member of your constituency, not just those voting for you.
