Can’t stand the thought of.

Poor old 30p. No place for him in the Shady Cabinet.

Do we think he has one more defection in him?

Labour āž” Tory āž” Reform āž” Restore?

Regurgitate?

REfuse - stress on the first syllable. Hopefully.

Just because you were able to combine work and motherhood doesn’t mean that choice is widely wanted or available Casdon. For some mothers staying at home is the preferred option to shall we say working on a building site? In most cases, it’s sheer economic necessity though and it never used to be.
No one is forcing women to have babies. Abortion is very freely on demand.

Casdon Wed 18-Feb-26 14:35:44

You’ve put words in my mouth ronib. I didn’t say that my choices should be everybody’s path. I said that women should have the right to make choices, and the right to have a career or a job, and that to decide to have no, or few, children and when to have them should be their choice not anybody else’s. If they choose to do so, as they can now, they can stay at home, accepting the financial and career consequences of doing so, that’s fine by me too, obviously.

He’s a vile man - as are the Reform party . I’m sure he’ll fit in well

Peaseblossom Wed 18-Feb-26 15:14:42

It's not far right, it's just right. We do not want to end up being a communist country!

ronib Wed 18-Feb-26 15:15:13

Women do currently have this right in law although cultural practices may result in different approaches and outcomes. Casdon

Ok. So am not sure how you came to this conclusion.
Obviously we have now passed into a parallel universe.

Maremia Wed 18-Feb-26 16:12:37

'It's just right? 'Are you talking about Jenrick abusing his control of planning regulations to save millions for a Tory donor? Is that the ' right' under discussion?
Do you think what he did then was 'right'?

fancythat Wed 18-Feb-26 16:17:41

^76% of people don’t want them.
^

Crumbs. That is a lot of votes.

But dont know whether they fall in "wrong" places, to get many seats?

All assuming of course, things stay as they are. Which they certainly dont in politics nowadays.

Does Farage actually do any work? He loves media attention and would make a great ringmaster at the circus but leading a political party and heaven forfend the country is too much toil for him.

he seems to be on the telly every evening.
Though that could be my imagination.

Oreo Wed 18-Feb-26 16:23:25

I really don’t think anyone needs stress about either Jenryk or Reform at this stage so far from a GE.

Oreo Wed 18-Feb-26 16:26:00

The media seek out Farage as they know he can be relied on to say something contentious or newsworthy in some way and he’s always happy to be in front of a camera.

Farage is already very, very rich A million p.a.is chickenfeed to him. I think he is really in it for ā€˜fame’ and ego. Same applies to some ,but not all, of his mates. Which makes you question why he says he supports poor working people.

You may have some points.

I think the difference between him and so many others is, I am not convinced he wants power.
Therefore he can spend his time with "poor working people".

StoneofDestiny Wed 18-Feb-26 17:17:56

Jenrick has proven he is a dishonest man who his own team mates cannot even trust. He was criticised for his handling of the cladding crisis post Grenfell, he voted Remain at Brexit but changed his mind later claiming he backs Leave, He ramped up the purchase of hotels for Asylum Seekers but claimed Rwanda wasn’t a radical enough policy. In every role he had in the Tory Government he has failed and that is a government that despite 14 years in power and 5 Prime Ministers they left the country and the economy in a disastrous mess. Now he and the other Tory failures expect us to give them another go under the leadership of a Trump loving Farage who barely visits his own constituency or Parliament?
You would have to be morally and mentally challenged to vote for them.

Maremia Wed 18-Feb-26 18:03:49

It would be worthwhile if an investigative, but non threatening, Journalist could find a way to get to the bottom of why folk chose to vote Reform.

Dorisdodar Wed 18-Feb-26 19:21:10

People are voting for Reform because of mass immigration...it's as simple as that. Call them racist if you want I don't think that matters to them. The amount of people who have come to Britain is too much for us to cope with. The hard working natives find it difficult to get GP appointments can't get a NHS dentist can't get affordable housing..to these people the future looks grim.
Why do you think they voted for Brexit? The same reasons as above.

Maremia Wed 18-Feb-26 19:27:43

Divide and conquer. Works every time.

Well people seriously in want of an education then, as immigration by ā€˜small boats* has become a problem because of Brexit. The UK can no longer send by illegal immigrants because of Brexit - we could before Brexit. Farage and Johnson are directly responsible for promoting Brexit and telling lies about why it would be a good thing. It has not proved to be a good thing and illegal migration has become a problem directly as a result of it.

Jenrick is exactly like Farage! 2 snakes 2 self serving awful men! Reform will pay a heavy price! Don’t forget no one in reform voted for Farage to be leader? He gave himself the job? Very frightening times with the rhetoric they spew

nanna8 Thu 19-Feb-26 05:12:21

Well I had 4 babies in my 20 s and I wanted and loved them. I certainly didn’t think of myself as a breeding machine! I also had a career later. And no, we didn’t have Nannies or servants. I personally think it is best to have children whilst you are young and have energy but that is a whole new topic.

vegansrock Thu 19-Feb-26 05:37:21

They should be called the ā€œshallow cabinetā€.

StoneofDestiny Thu 19-Feb-26 07:49:50

This is the level of trust and competence Jenrick instills - he says Reform 'will restore two-child benefit cap', just a week after he voted to remove it!

Dorisdodar Thu 19-Feb-26 07:51:08

StoneofDestiny.... What about the 2 to 3 million after COVID.....That's an awful lot of people and it's coming up to the point they can apply for indefinite leave to remain which means they can have other family members joining them.
The country's not in a good place and it's not because of Reform supporters....so I think saying they need an education is a tad rude.

Allsorts Thu 19-Feb-26 07:58:21

I agree Reform is only popular as it seems they will address immigration. Otherwise they would not stand a chance. The two main parties just blame each other and do nothing so people are drawn to the one that says they will.
