Great news 🙂

I don’t think so, it was previously not known to historians, the British Museum did a lot of research to find out what exactly it was, it was found in 2019, so it’s taken years to get to this point.

I wonder if it was stolen and then buried to hide it? 🤔

Fantastic news

Indeed, Sarnia. It is a beautiful piece and I am glad that it is staying here. I share your enthusiasm for detectorists, Casdon, finding long hidden treasures for us .

It’s good news, the heart looks beautiful. I’m pleased that it will go on a national tour so that many more people will be able to see it.

I had never heard of the Tudor Heart its certainly beautiful. Found by a detectorist so I assume he shares the money with the land owner. It beggars belief how such a beautiful pendant was lost in a field. Im glad they were able to save it for future generations to enjoy.

I’m really pleased about this too. Metal detectorists are brilliant in my opinion, they regularly turn up treasures which add to our historical knowledge and our artefact collection.

That is good news Sarnia. The Tudor period is my favourite one.

Wonderful news that the British Museum has successfully raised £3.5m so that this unique artefact can stay here and be on public display for all to enjoy.
Very few items remain from Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon's marriage. As a history lover I am delighted that the beautiful Tudor Heart stays where it belongs.
