Just when you think he can't stoop any lower, this vile man has posted a video on his Truth Social portraying the Obamas as apes. He should be arrested for racial harassment but of course he'll just laugh it off and get away with it. Disgusting.

Thank goodness, Oreo, that we are not all the same.

Vive la différence!

That’s what I say too.

Agree to disagree Oreo? Have a pleasant evening 😊

Oh yes, always😃
I did have a pleasant evening thank you, we cuddled up on the sofa with a glass of wine and watched a really good film on Netflix which I recommend called The Wonder.Set in Ireland in 1880.

Racism has always been with us Meandrogrog. It's part of human life and is a necessary term to use when describing events and political stances. But really....

what on earth else do you expect but the frequent use of the word, given that it is not just 'mentioned" in the O/P, but the whole thread is about Racism as a topic

What do you want us to do, talk about the wet weather instead, or pretend we dont notice when people put others down or make assumptions about individuals based on their race and cultural backgrounds?

Esmay Sun 08-Feb-26 07:28:51

I was horrified by his racism .
My Jamaican friend's family live in the US and are avid supporters of Trump .
I must ask her what they thought.

I think it’s fairly obvious who is on shaky moral ground in this debate.

“More like moral high ground is the stance you are taking.”

If condemning racism is claiming the moral high ground then yes, I absolutely do. Don’t you condemn racism?

I find a lot of posters on here, particularly noticeable from those on the political left, to be completely and utterly obsessed with the word racist. Anyone who objects to illegal immigration is obviously racist and it just goes on and on and on.

'Stirring the pot' ? Maybe calling fellow GNs 'sheeples counts as stirring the pot?

Of course you can look at things differently Oreo, God help us if everyone was the same, but I get the impression that you do like to play the devil’s advocate sometimes.
Which is fine, and adds to a discussion, but there are occasions - and this whole racism debacle is one of them - when the damning evidence of Trump being racist makes playing Devil’s advocate reflect rather badly upon you. Am sure, however, having read your posts, that this doesn’t bother you, so it is what it is.

You may get that ‘impression’ Fallingstar but you would be utterly wrong.I don’t have the time or the inclination to play devils advocate on any thread, I simply say what I think on any given subject.
But you’re right that not agreeing with the crowd doesn’t bother me.

Ah, the late entry, comments, then the "must have the last word and disappear" approach...

Rather a stirring the pot approach Wyllow3

I listened to her testify, Welbec
Quite extraordinary...
(And deeply depressing)

Anyway, I’ve had enough of this already.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Kandinsky Sat 07-Feb-26 17:42:51

Well I very much doubt Obama would call him a moron, he has more class. I doubt he’s even bothered to comment at all.

Basgetti Sat 07-Feb-26 17:37:36

I don’t believe I have. I think it’s perfectly valid in his case.

From the Oxford Dictionary:

“a person having low intelligence or an intellectual disability”

Please demonstrate how that does not apply.

You find me calling the man a word you find offensive wrong and without morals but you find posting photographs of the former black president and First Lady depicted as apes acceptable and trivial. Please explain why?

Kandinsky Sat 07-Feb-26 17:33:05

Basgetti
Calling someone a ‘Moron’ is actually seen as offensive to most people.
So you’ve just lost the moral high ground.

Basgetti Sat 07-Feb-26 17:32:45

Yes, saw that yesterday, MollyNew/Hallgreenmiss.

Perhaps you’d care to explain to this gentleman why he’s wrong, Oreo?

hallgreenmiss Sat 07-Feb-26 17:29:46

Here's some more "context" - Tim Scott, the only black Republican senator in Congress has condemned the racist video, saying "Praying it was fake because it's the most racist thing I've seen out of this White House, the President should remove it".

Trump may not have created the video but he chose to re-post that particular segment, demonstrating his approval of it.

Trump is blaming a White House staffer and claiming he didn’t watch all of the clip. Refusing to apologise, lying as usual about the video being about the ‘rigged 2020 election’.

‘It is perfectly possible to be annoyed, disgusted or even outraged about more than one issue at a time.’

Totally. I think the majority if not all members of GN would like to think they are intelligent enough to do this and probably do this all the time.
