Thoughts with all those affected. Quietly attending their place of worship for prayer and reflection on this, the holiest day in the calendar for the Jewish community.
As far as I am aware Caleo, the attack on a synagogue was aimed at Jews not any of the other groups you mention. If you were sensible enough to take heed of the subject of the thread, you may not have exposed yourself as being so hideously rude, rather ignorant and particularly nasty.
Your sarcastic and offensive remark is best suited to either a playground or a hate rally.
I suggest you find your rightful place in one of them.
The information was very helpful FGT. As regards what can and can’t be on the thread, it really isn’t up to any individual to define, because there are many relevant aspects, which to the poster who raises then IS significant.
It’s the tone of posting as regards respect for those suffering greatly that gives us our guidelines, as often mentioned.
So anyone who wants to join a protest march objecting to what is happening to the Palestinian people in Gaza is part of a 'mob' in your mind, Oreo? And older people who see the danger in outlawing a protest organisation and hold up signs to that effect are just "silly"? For most of us, marches and signs are the only way we can stand up against the current atrocities in Gaza and protect free speech. I agree that it would have been more compassionate and sensible to postpone yesterday's march but the way you ridicule the sincere expressions of concern by many participants in these marches is just bigoted and wrong-headed.
I debated long and hard before posting but since I was responding specifically to some words in a post on this thread, words to which I objected, I don't see why you think it doesn't fit here.
Outcast52 there are numerous ways of protesting/supporting Gaza without the need to support Palestinian Action Group which has been proscribed as a terrorist group here in the U.K.
Those holding placards in support of PAG knew full well that they would be arrested.
I get really confused about which posts and why. Opinions differ, surely that is allowed. I must find and read these guidelines. Outcast is expressing an opinion on words used in previous posts.
StripeyGran posts do not get deleted unless they are against Gransnet guidelines.
Well, it was ok until Outcast called another poster bigoted and wrongheaded simply because they do not agree on a couple of points.
Anyway, I shan't be reporting, let it stand and posters can judge for themselves whether that remark is bigoted and wrong-headed in itself - or not as the case may be.
