Incident in Water St Liverpool

Looks like the car tried to get away but fans hung onto it and kept him there.Good for them!

It sounded like Water St but could be Walton St.

How awful. My GS was in that area this afternoon.

A friend is there, he was at the Hillsborough stadium in 1989 and in Paris in 2023. I hope he is OK. Liverpool fans have had too many tragedies already.

Prime Minister has issued a statement and news is that this indicates the seriousness of the incident.

Unlikely to be an accident. Driver was detained at scene.

There was an air ambulance at the scene. Hope not too many injured.

It will be a miracle if many have not been killed or seriously injured. I have seen the full footage, absolutely horrific

Police have arrested a 53 year old white British man.

What should have been a joyous parade has been turned into a tragedy. I only hope there are not too many casualties or any fatalities.

It is indeed horrific. I would advise people not to look for the footage if they're squeamish or easily offended. Those poor people. Just out celebrating their club's success, only for something like this to happen.

I was impressed with the police action and the speed at which they controlled the situation

We have family there visiting from abroad and the train station is at a standstill with no information at all been waiting 3 hours already.
They’d not laid on any extra trains or planned any transport replacement, it seems so don’t know if this has been a result of the dreadful incident for all concerned. 🙏🏻

Our DD has just heard from our SIL who is there as an emergency worker. He messaged to reassure her he's ok as the crowds and people angry with the driver is a potentially dangerous for them too.He was injured in the Southport riots so knew she would be worried. Thats all he could say re the situation until more announced officially

Another terrible incident, poor Liverpool FC again their joy in an epic season is spoiled. Please don’t watch any footage on social media, it just feeds the idiots who post and treat peoples lives as gossipy news to share with the world.

Just read a report from a local radio reporter in a building with a vantage point.
Says 2 ambulances have been there and not moved. Over 2 hours. Also an incident tent.
So it's not looking good unfortunately.

Another eye witness who narrowly avoided being hit said the horn was being sounded in the vehicle in question.
