Is it possible that he is such a danger to the staff and other prisoners that he needs to be held in a high security hospital, where dealing with very dangerous prisoners is what they are there for, and ensures that he cannot harm staff etc.

I think this is where he should be, for the reasons that Whitewavemark2 states.

I, too, think that this person is better placed in an establishment such as Broadmoor.

I agree that his transfer to Broadmoor would be better as the staff have more experience with this sort of offender. I don't think it's the cushier option for him. We used to live near Broadmoor and it's very secure.

Broadmoor is the best place for him. His extremely, extremely disturbed personality is a danger in our overcrowded prisons, where, and this is a key point, they haven't the capacity to treat and contain in a prison population someone so mentally ill.

Treatment for Mental Health problems in prisons is pretty appalling for those who are suicidal and troubled, ie staff, ability to see, diagnose, and treat keep in best conditions for those who can actually get better:
they cannot possibly deal with someone like this as well, who could easily first cause havoc and is almost certainly to be a target

It is not an easy option.

I'd lock him in his cell and throw away the key and let him rot if I had my way.

Think what you are asking of the prison officers, Sunshinegirls.
Its de facto the death penalty inflicted by the men and women of the prison service.
You cannot ask this of them, if you live in a decent society.

I'm sure there are many people who share my views. I'm in favour of the death penalty especially for this sort of crime against innocent little girls.
