^Because a person can be against continued killing in Gaza and Lebanon and be against Hamas and Hezbollah as well, it isn’t a case if ‘either/or’.^
Totally agree, Babs03. It goes without saying that I condemn the actions of Hamas on Oct 7th 2023, but I can at the same time, condemn Netanyahu (not Israel, not every Jew) for the aggressive actions in Gaza and Lebanon. It is sad to see some using the march yesterday as yet another opportunity to criticise Khan, and even worse to start demanding that pro-Palestine marches are banned. Democracy is not just having what you like.
Also considering how some posters confuse anti Netanyahu and anti IDF dialogue with being antisemitic. This is just not true. I have never and will never aim any vitriol at the Jewish people. I make the distinction of only ever using the term ‘Israeli’ as do the vast majority if not all on threads like this.
Is perfectly okay to take Netanyahu and the IDF to task for their present military activities in Gaza and Lebanon. Just as I did so with Blair and Bush when they waged an illegal war in Iraq, or as take the Iranian regime to task for their activities in the ME.
If we are to make Netanyahu immune when it comes to any criticism, why would we give him this impunity? What makes him different to Putin, Blair, Biden, the Iranian regime, Trump, or countless others we all should hold to account, and as often as possible.
