Sorry wrong user name, vintageclassics, my apologies.
My dad spent 40 years mastering his craft, and last week someone half his age told him how to eat.😠

For those feeling nervous over the governments competence and who believe the propaganda put out by the right wing media, I thought I would start recording the day by day development of the governments activity.
Day 1
The PM appointed the cabinet, and was briefed by the permanent secretary.
The PM gave advice over urgent domestic issues needing immediate attention, as well as urgent security matters.
The Prime Minister signed off letters to the heads of the military, giving instructions over action in case of nuclear threat.
The Prime Minister will begin preparations for his NATO visit to Washington next week.
Sir Keir Starmer will have decided domestic issues over his living arrangements etc.
The Home Secretary -Yvette Cooper - killed the Rwanda plan. However it was disclosed by the Home Office that there was in fact no such plan in operation - no work had been carried out on any plan for months. So my goodness - was that one of the last lies told to the public by the previous government?
Sorry wrong user name, vintageclassics, my apologies.
If the building has been unfettered for the last 10 years though vintagewhine why do you think that’s anything to do with the new government?
I do hope when free-for-all building development gets underway it largely falls next to people voting for it! My small market town has had almost unfettered house building for the last 10 years increasing the population from 18K to 28K - no more doctors surgeries built, not enough dentists, no nearby hospital, the local secondary school is insufficient for need, not enough primary school places and green belt built on. Look out the rest of the UK - an enormous housing estate is coming to you soon!

^Ha ha you mean like Minister for Further Education who fiddled her expenses and even charged for two pornographic films which were apparently for her husband^ 🤣
Cracking choice of Minister there! 😝
shows real “knowledge, experience and expertise.
You could, Primrose just RTFT, in which case you’d see that I posted my disapproval of this.
what does RTFT mean? Anyway, where is your post?
@Freya5 I fear for it too!
It’ll all implode.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary have condemned the Russian attack on a children’s hospital in Ukraine.
The described the U.K. s support to Ukraine as iron-clad.
Lammy has been touring some European countries to begin to ascertain the level of support Europe can give to Ukraine.

Did she mention Knife crime?
Stop and search?
I do know that they have developed a 5 point plan, which I assume will be acted on soon, but Cooper, as far as I know, hasn’t mentioned it yet.
Treasury
The chancellor also announced that a review by Mark Carney into the establishment of a National Wealth Fund would soon be published. She also said she would before summer release an audit by Treasury officials of the current state of public spending and tax.
The Budget and a Spending Review will occur in Autumn, after the full process from the Office of Budget responsibility.
As is good grammar😳

he dosn't know what a woman is, thinks not just women have a cervix, lammy thinks men can grow one. Do I have any faith in these men|??? NO
Please change the record - it’s getting really boring now! It’s boring, but true.
Besides, this thread would die if posters stopped commenting on what ministers and governments have done or said in the past.
No it won’t because it see purely as an information thread, as a push back against the criticism that the new government had no plans and no competence with which to carry it out.
So for the time I will report on the plans and competence.
Comments and sensible debate is very welcome.

Home Office
Secretary of State is extremely concerned of the state of our prisons, the legacy left by the previous government.
Yvette Cooper has said she wants to recruit 13,000 extra neighbourhood police officers and introduce tough new Respect Orders to stop issues such as public drinking and drug use.

New MPs are being offered a course on behavioural code. I would have thought some of the old ones needed the course as well.

Maybe the place to start would be to stop the massive exodus of teachers in their five years after training
Agreed. But how?
What do you suggest?Reinstating funding to Teach First might be a start. An organisation that placed older graduates, those with wide experiences from industry into teaching. It was removed by the Tories.
This
the government will immediately resume and expand the teacher recruitment campaign Every Lesson Shapes a Life, the department adds.
The scheme in question directs potential candidates to the Get Into Teaching website, where they can find support and advice from teacher training advisers, a contact centre and a national programme of events.
Rachel Reeves
There was an impressive amount of international investors, keen to listen to Reeves. They are needed in the absence of government funding for the time being.
Reeves confirmed that there will be no rise in VAT. or NI.

My question is “will Rwanda give us (the UK taxpayers) back the money they were given for the stupid Rwanda scheme?”As nothing is happening now? We want the millions back!
Or is it more money lost ?
The money you are talking about will be a drop in the ocean compared to what Labour will be spending on housing, hotels, feeding, educating, meeting dental and health needs and then bringing in all the relatives of the illegal immigrants.
Kevin Saunders (former Chief Immigration Officer) was speaking on TV last night and he admitted we haven’t seen anything yet! Those queuing up to come have given Keir Scammer a special name that means “our friend who will help us.”

Tough, you can't hide what Starmer and Lammy have said just because you don't like it. Lammy also said he doesn't want any more white saviours, I think he's got a big chip on his shoulder.
