Situated in Stuttgart - Brexit defeated them.
Which is very peevish as it is a site I use.

Never ever heard of Peter Hahn or the shop
Nor me BlueBelle.
I’m more of a White Stuff or Monsoon type of girl. Buy almost all my underwear from M+S, and my pjs and most of my dressing gowns too. Also buy M+S’s pull up jegging/jeans from there because they fit well and are comfy.
Used to like some things from Joules, but they’re only online now.
I often buy nice things I see when I’m abroad.
This year I’ve bought a lovely cotton cardigan in Greece, mittens and socks in Norway, and a nice tee shirt and two scarves in New Zealand. I nearly bought a really nice casual zip up hoodie in NZ too, but they didn’t have my size 😕
BlueBelle
Maybe that’s why I ve never heard of them I don’t buy classics and don’t have the money for expensive clothes but never heard anyone mention the name
Same here 😄

Have you tried Country Collection and House of Bruar?
House of Bruar had terrible customer service recently and no apology.
Terrible shoe mess for my husband. Had to buy elsewhere after originally ordering with a month to spare. All very difficult as they were so slow all the time and he needed them gor a wedding.
Will not use them again.
BTW - read in a retail type news magazine that the big German brands are facing cutbacks and several are struggling.
I think quality of Joules stuff is no longer what it was. Mis-matched patterns (some cut upside down for example) stripes sewn irregularly so hang wonky...
Not sure what's going on there either.
I’ll take House of Bruar off my list then NotSpaghetti. What about David Napier - definitely not cheap.
If you want arran all wool jumpers I recommend Skellig Gift in Ireland. Excellent service and quality.
I don't like Trustpilot as I've seen it manipulated to favour of the companies being reviewed so their ratings are falsely positive. In Hahn's case its Trustpilot rating is negative and reviews over the last 6+ months would make alarm bells ring and I wouldn't order.

I love Peter Hahn , but then I'm an old fashioned girl , who
sometimes wears twinsets with pearls .
I bought my last twinset from the US and it was expensive .
One day they'll be back in fashion!
Haven't bought David Nieper for ages.
Still made in the UK I think. Derbyshire...

Hopefully ,
it just take one or two photographs of the Princess of Wales wearing twinsets and they'll be on the shelves - even in Primart !
I noticed that a couple of years ago , she was wearing a particular style of dress , which I've made in the past .
It has mid length sleeves , is shaped around the bust and has buttons down the front .
My mother wore dresses like it post - war and she bought and made them .
An extremely pretty and feminine dress and much copied .
I bought several in M and S .

I am also annoyed with House of Bruar. Ordered a throw last Sunday and it still has not arrived.
If you like German clothes try Oska. Also have a look at Pennickhof of Holland. Good service but be aware that since Brexit postal charges will be high, Probably about £22 from the Continent.
Thanks Boz... i confess postage charges from "overseas" are now sometimes so horrendous I give up.
It's even worse if you need to return things.
I have bought clothes for my husband from the EU though - a make that seems to fit him well and nice quality: johnhenric.com/gb
Read some not good reviews but actually had great service twice recently so happy to post here...
Free delivery over £100 and I think it was £5 to return.
They have some shirts he bought in their sale now. 50% off.
Not sure if they have a delivery hub over here or not.
For the first time in years I bought something in M&S. An extremely nice white shirt for £25. My 22 yr old DGD is now buying from them. We should all give them another look.
Peter Hahn was a bit too expensive for my income. Looked good quality though. They kept sending me a catalogue even after I requested them not to. Eventually they gave up.
😁
I have never had any problem with House of Bruar but Evri and the PO have been slow, this has been the same with other companies lately.
I've always thought that shopping especially for clothes from a catalogue a bit old fashioned but helpful I suppose for older infirm people who can't get to the shops.

Yes, same in France, the home of fashion. One of my favourite labels, Pause Café, also available in UK, went into liquidation last year, citing rising costs, covid and the war in Ukraine as reasons. It's happening all over Europe.
I am sad PH will no longer trade in the U.K. They did organic cotton dresses, of which I bought a few 10 11 years ago and their colours are still strong. I would look through PH’s website then buy elsewhere.
House of Bruar can be good, I buy my rain hats from them but their sizing follows old norms. I am usually a 16-18, but even their 22 is too small and more like a 14 in old money.
HoBruar sales for good quality coats can be a very good way to pick something up on a discount.
This reminds me, on visiting Harvey Nichols, for a look only mind, I was aghast at the price of some clothes, some beautiful, some well to be honest, absolutely hideous. So having a lot of money doesn't always mean good taste. When in Germany I love Bonita, classic clothes , made to last, my lovely jacket has lasted me ten years.
I had to smile when I read your post, I am (or was) a Peter Hahn devotee, and their jeans fitted me beautifully. Like you, I have quite a few torn-out pages from their numerous catalogues! Alas, no more. I did an online search, and one or two German newspapers have reported that the company was on the verge of liquidation (like other such businesses in Germany), but has managed to survive for now. They do mail order, but strictly EU only; I tested the system, and their German website made it plain that they do not accept orders outside EU. They have several shops in Germany, including a very big one in Munich, so I'm hoping to get my husband to consider a long weekend there.......

It is not only in the UK but also in France.
Sounds like the company has big problems, wherever.
