What did you you think you would have by your current age that you don't?
I know the last thread was taken down at the op’s request - but if anyone wants to continue discussing this major news item I’ve started this one.

I saw that earlier, he has his lawyers all over this.
Mollygo (if that is indeed your name 😉)
I notice that everyone has currently got ADHD.
First it was anxiety (which I was diagnosed with before it was a thing), then ASD…
There must be lots more examples.
Not to mention the ‘little bit OCD’ crowd

Schofield, age 61, age 20 when AIDS hit the world, this caused even more people to be homophobic, not a time to ‘come out’ !
horrible expression. How many homosexuals were working in the media at this time.
Homosexuality has nothing to do with grooming or otherwise exploiting young people, and it is very offensive to suggest otherwise.
Nobody cares if Schofield or anyone else is gay, straight or anything in between. As far as I am concerned he can have sex with any consenting adult, and his marital arrangements are between him and his wife. His choice to 'come out' when he did, whilst highly convenient given the sequence of events that followed, was his choice to make (or not make) and nothing to do with anyone else either.
What do need to be investigated are allegations of grooming of very young people, of exploitation and worse. That sort of thing needs to be investigated regardless of the sexuality of the alleged perpetrators.
Fanny I was taken back to 1971, had postnatal depression and went into hospital for a few weeks, a mental hospital, oh the shame, whilst there my husband and two babies were moved from the town where he was stationed to another town , the chief inspector said it was to save me embarrassment when I came home, should that be - when I was released 🙄😀, I have worked in mental health services since that time.
Now I am being boring !

No, do call me Marygo if it helps.😁😁
Not boring Annie. Informative. Anyone who hasn't suffered with mental health problems can't possibly understand the horror of it. I admit to sometimes thinking that, particularly with some celebrities, it is now a bandwagon or an excuse for bad behaviour. If they have genuinely suffered then they have my sympathy because it is hell.

Perhaps we will see those with mental illness speak out more, hold celebration days like Gay pride .
Must be so boring for you Marygo
That’s rather insulting?!
Annie I’m sorry, I never suggested that talking about mental health was boring.
I hope that you didn’t think that I thought that.
My family and I, and now my DH have suffered from all sorts of mental health issues.
The point that I was making is that the issues seem to be ‘watered down’ (for want of a better expression) by all sorts of celebrities jumping on various band wagons.
It’s often extremely helpful, like when Stephen Fry talked about his bipolar, but other times it minimalists issues.
I also think that Molly may have been making a similar point.
I hope this makes some sort of sense
And thank you for your hard work in that area
Annie my mom had PND depression too at exactly the same time.
I’m not sure if she even knew what it was.
She was put on Valium and had a really tough time coming off it.
Things have improved so much
Not at all Fanny oh your poor mother a victim of ‘mothers little helpers’. Valium, Ativan etc, nightmare years affecting thousands of women , withdrawal was horrific, I sat with many
going through that.
Thank you Annie
Many of you have chosen to speak on Jaffacake's behalf. Speaking to her directly, I would like to say I am sorry if she was upset by my remarks. I was extremely concerned people were flying very close to the law and could put themselves in difficulty.
However, how many have apologised to Huw Edwards, his family and the other adult, whose lives and reputations have been gleefully shredded on this forum? Brains have become locked by anger. Logic seems to be dead and angry gossip reigns supreme.
The police found no criminality in the HE case.Am thinking there will also be no criminality around Dan Wooton either.
Looks like a case of newspapers and SM doing witch hunts when all there is to it are private sexual things.I wonder how many men, married or single, gay or straight would like to have their private lives examined in this way.In other words, it’s their business not anyone elses.

I don’t call my ongoing medication for depression which started as PND ‘mother’s little helpers ‘. That is a vile and belittling phrase.

In the DW case, the allegations are more serious. It's alleged (and I have no idea of the truth) that DW has used two false names (one male and one female) to entice some well-connected people to send him pictures of a sexual nature, presumably with a view to blackmail.
If that's true, the problem is that the people involved are not likely to come forward in case he publishes the photos/videos.
Valium
Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1963, Valium has now been with us for half a century. From the late 1960s to the early 1980s, “Mother's Little Helper” (as described by the Rolling Stones in a 1966 song) was the Western world's most widely prescribed drug.22 Sept 2013
That’s what they were commonly called ‘mothers little helper’
Just allegations so far growstuff not facts and maybe very far from the truth. No case for pitchforks just yet.
That is a vile and belittling phrase.
Vile? Seriously?
Yes Oreo as the link says , until early 80’s
Oh, deep-joy. More sexually-orientated allegations about someone's private life. Some out there will be tickled pink at the opportunity for renewed speculation, especially now that the hysteria surrounding the H.E. case has abated somewhat.
I'm surprised that we haven't seen more about it in the gutter press, although I expect that the burn dressings on the still-smarting fingers will be making for an uncomfortable keyboard experience.
I'd looked it up too Annie but see you've posted @ 12.27 what I was going too. I knew they were called 'mother's little helpers' but wasn't sure where the name originated from.
I’m well aware of the Stones song but am surprised someone still uses the phrase today. Btw I have never been prescribed Valium.
