Ed Davey says they can. Keir Starmer isn’t sure. Can women have a penis?

Baggs Sat 27-May-23 13:33:52

There is NEVER anything wrong with asking for the source of a piece of information.

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 13:37:04

Another post of sweeping statements and unsubstantiated and vague accusations.

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 13:37:56

My post @ 13.37 was in response to VS.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 13:38:01

Ok, I'll pay attention in future to see who asks who for a source

Perhaps say, doodledog asks Mollygo for verifiable sources and I just haven't noticed

GrannyGravy13 Sat 27-May-23 13:39:51

If we are just posting an opinion then there is no need to give sources, data etc.

If we are posting facts and figures it is always wise to also post your source otherwise those facts and figures will obviously be challenged and queried.

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 13:42:04

Mollygo asked you several questions yesterday evening VS and I asked you at least one earlier but you haven't answered any of them.

MocTensnarg Sat 27-May-23 13:54:50

Off course not. It's simple biology that we all learn as teens. It's a fact and no matter what opinion you have, facts don't care about opinions

Glorianny Sat 27-May-23 13:56:29

VioletSky is quite correct and very few transwomen are housed in women's prisons, over 90% are in male prisons and are not asking to be moved.
Which means that the number in women's prisons is very small.

Have you ever considered that some of us have lives and are not as obsessed with this subject as many of you are? So answering questions isn't a priority. Especially as most of you will ignore the answers and continue with your preconceptions anyway.

Oh, the irony. Unless of course you really intend to be rude

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 14:15:56

No TBH that thought never crossed my mind Glorianny. I often find that when someone doesn't answer questions, especially when it's a regular occurrence, that they can't.

Mollygo Sat 27-May-23 14:23:44

Thank you Doodledog.
I asked the questions because Googling for information on those statements brought no evidence to support them, and VS might have had other sources.

Most of us do have lives, but wish to retain our previously held rights - the two are not mutually exclusive.

And, if you are not interested in the subject, which is fair enough, why do you post on the threads?🤔

The usual thing is not to bother with subjects of no interest.

Baggs Sat 27-May-23 14:31:47

I will try and find the source of this. I think I saw it on twtr. It said that several of the male people housed in women's jails only started to trasition after they had been charged with sex offences against women.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 14:33:11

It wouldn't occur to me to share a lie

Pomegranateseed Sat 27-May-23 14:34:20

hmm

timetogo2016 Sat 27-May-23 14:38:06

Only if she has a man inside her,a dildo is not a penis, just a substitute for one.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 14:38:41

Why can't we introduce an idea and then discuss it?

Rather than spice please?

I read to things all the time and don't necessarily remember the source

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 14:39:17

Source , not spice

BeverleyJB Sat 27-May-23 14:49:24

VioletSky

It wouldn't occur to me to share a lie

I can't let this slide.

I have found more than one of your posts to be untruthful. To paraphrase Maya Angelou, when someone shows you who they are, believe them. Which is why I now take everything you say with a pinch of salt.

It is, of course, quite possible for a person to tell him/herself the same untruths so many times that he/she no longer recognises it as such. But that doesn't mean that everyone else is fooled or has to “go along” with it.

Baggs Sat 27-May-23 14:52:43

VioletSky

It wouldn't occur to me to share a lie

But anyone might share a lie if they didn't realise it was a lie. When challenged as to the item's source a person who wouldn't normally lie would go and check the so-called lie's source.

This is normal practice when items of information are challenged.

If a person starts being defensive instead of back-checking they are making it all about them instead of about the item in question.

And that's kinda weird.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 15:02:07

Beverly

I don't ever remember even speaking to you

What have I shared that is a lie?

baggs

I understand that, yes people may unknowingly share a lie, it looks like I've done so already today after being told something that many not be true.. I'm looking into it.

Perceptions of things can also be different meaning, that 2 different people are opposed but both see themselves as telling the truth.

But what I was referring too originally was a statistic I read saying that 90% of trans prisoners did not ask to go to women's prisons

I did not have the source at the time so was glad to see it shared by another poster

Why assume it's a lie or treat each other like it could be, rather than saying "that's interesting and is different to what I thought would be the case, do you have a source for it?

Maybe I should not be taking people at face value?

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 15:04:39

Asking questions is an accepted part of discussion VS, but the problem is you more often than not. ignore questions asked of you.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 15:08:00

Well there are reasons for that Smileless

I work, so lose track of threads

I have a habit of ignoring rudeness, misinterpretations and assertions about me that aren't true

I tried for a while addressing those and correcting them but that just made everyone more cross and the outcome was that I was told what I think more often

BeverleyJB Sat 27-May-23 15:08:06

To add some context to Glorianny's post that there are very few males who identify as women housed in women's prisons… while these men generally retain male patterns of offending, there are some differences.
The attached shows:

The percentage of trans "women" sex offenders in prison (58.9%) was staggeringly higher than female (3.3%) or male sex offenders (16.8%):

76 sex offenders out of 129 transwomen = 58.9%

125 sex offenders out of 3812 women = 3.3%

13234 sex offenders out of 78781 men = 16.8%
