Bagpipes? I don't know if they had any or not.

In a discussions about how badly Darien went, and how it led to the Union of the Parliaments being easier to achieve for the upper classes, you have made the assumption that bagpipes are somehow representative of the Scottish nation.

On a morning when Grans are getting upset at the depiction of an ex-BBC employee because it's anti-semitic, try to appreciate that recourse to stereotypes is not a sensible debating strategy. Or even funny.

Has anyone heard of the Darien Scheme, as an aside? An unsuccessful attempt by the Scots to establish New Caledonia - a Scottish colony in the Gulf of Darien.

Huge financial losses by the Company of Scotland left the Scottish Lowlands in financial ruin. This was an important factor in weakening resistance to the Act of Union 1707.
The Guna people had the territory of Guna Yala as their home so one could say, lucky escape for them.
Googled this . Am just curious if this happened or is it a bad joke?
