Despite insisting they are keeping an open mind, the police do seem obsessed with their theory that the river holds the answer. It must be incredibly frustrating for the poor family.
Lancashire Police will hold their first press conference in eight days on Wednesday at 11.30am. It is expected to be led by Assistant Chief Constable Peter Lawson and senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Rebecca Smith.
Out of respect for the family I think it’s perfectly understandable that the police don’t wish to elaborate on what the specific vulnerabilities are. It obviously has a bearing on why their ‘main working hypothesis’ is that she entered the water. They stressed though that all lines of enquiry are still open.
